Watching you struggle with Radhan and go through all kinds of machinations to figure out how beat him and then go in with dryleaf arts as a joke/out of frustration only to actually end up beating him has got to be one of the funniest/epic moments I’ve ever seen. pre-released Radahn is much 'easier' than what we have, been watching a lot of the youtubers playing it, he is less aggresive compare to current, and he doesnt have the dive, smaller explosion ring, and the skybox is also the same(which is actually much better since u can see his attacks better)

Nice! I got the flu when the dlc came out, spent two days playing while in bed and got to Radhan in the late evening and spent two hours and could not beat him, went on vacation with the wife and kids the day after and Radhan lived rent free in my head all week, came home last night and still sick I could not get that Radhan itch away so I booted up and took him down on my first try with plenty pots left. What a awesome boss fight, think Radhan, Bayle and Messmer are my favs in the dlc

Eh it’s not about normal or not it’s more about time investment imo. Most ppl don’t have enough time or patience (me) to figure out radians moveset. Though imo the boss would be a lot better with less visual clutter in phase 2

@@ronthorn3 eh ppl can play the game however they want however implying beating a video game boss without in game help abnormal is stupid. The boss isn’t so poorly balanced that it is unbeatable it has some bullshit in phase 2 and too much visual clutter. That’s it.

@@ronthorn3everyone’s definition of time is different. I died 150 times or so and want to play through with more builds, so I resorted to summons. At some point I’ll beat it without, but this is by far the most difficult boss I’ve encountered in a souls game.

My strat for big-man-radhan was, 1. Backhand blades (relying heavy on bleed & blind spot AOW) 2. Fingerprint Shield for the attacks that can be (sort of) blocked (learn to quickly switch to shield then back to two handed blades, this gets really tricky if you have multiple items in the slot) 3. Called on my mimic homie to tag team him into oblivion. 4. Stacked my flasks 12 HP to 2 MP, you don't get much time to use mana, so just need enough to power the AOW 5. Use the wonderous flask at the start to kinda block his initial purple bullcrap warp-rush as you call in a summons. (WF activated from the inventory so not cluttering my slots) 6. Keep your slots as tidy as possible, 15% extra damage negation is not much use when you get one-shotted whilst your character takes a break trying to eating a prawn.

I know when a boss is hard when I have to change up the way I usually play. I normally travel light with stuff equipped on the main down button "heal" slot so I'm used to it. The prawn, belt light, other consumables, ect. stay on the alternate slots. I actually didn't have to resort to shield grease yet, but I know eventually I will. Ironically I ended up going back to Fingerprint/mimic/Blashpemous Blade on my 7 or 8th attempt when I got him. I took off Erdtree's Favor and used Ritual Shield Talisman to tank that first hit/or while summoning. The greatshield, pearldrake +3, and Golden Braid where the others. BTW they nerfed the Talisman weights to the upside on the new DLC ones.........I was fat rolling with the same setup I had the day before.

Fromsoft love to troll the players. They put those 'Fists of Fury' in there for a reason. It's the secret weapon to take down Radahn. The hard part of this fight is that the boss resistances of the first phase are different than the second phase. I had no problem using fire during the first phase, but second phase the fire barely touched the dynamic duo. I think I'll go with fists rather than trying to figure out the resistances.

Congratulations on beating Consort Radahn. This is where I tossed in the towel, I just couldn't do it and I've fought every boss in the DLC and main game! Maybe I'll have better luck in NG+ though I'll have to refight everyone again but at least I'll be stronger by then.

Don’t give up. I had to respec into a turtle build and use +25 Fingerprint with Blood/Scarlet Antspur poke and then switch shield to holy infused +24 Blacksteel to get through phase 2. I’ve never used shields in 200 hours… Using this boring ass poke strat I was able to beat him in 3 tries. There’s several videos up showing this strat

If you complete the side quests before burning the Sealing tree then you will have two of those NPCs to help you instead of facing Radahn alone.

I think this is WAY harder when using a normal dark souls like build, but when mimic tear and OP ashes of war combine, it’s easier than isshin. But that’s the same for malenia and any elden ring boss so it’s hard to comoare

My only grievance with this fight is his endless combos. You have 4 options to manage damage, dodge, absorb and out damage, distance, or block. Absorbing is not a option nor for me was distance because of his massive distance closers and AOE's. So that leaves dodge or block and I just cant dodge endless five to six hit combos over and over. Plus I was always taking chip damage and in this fight thats a chunk of health so now Im dodging five times to heal rather then counter attack. My Dex/Int rapier Griffith build was not getting it done. I probably died 100+ times. Being highly frustrated I respected to a tank with a massive shield and poked with my rot rapier and took him down easy. So easy I didnt even feel good about, for me and my skill set I did not enjoy that I felt forced into specific play style. GREAT DLC overall, but I think either a slight damage reduction or maybe just a little breathing room and this fight would be better. Now to be fair Radahn does not have a massive health pool and takes damage so increase his health pool and I think for alot of players this fight would be more fun kind of like Gael.

I purposefully beat every boss before watching anyone try to fight them. Just beat Radahn an hour ago, took me around 15 attempts with Freya's Greatsword and Lion's Claw Ash of War on my Strength/Intelligence Gravity Mage. I did use Mimic Tear, but honestly Summons aren't a huge help in the DLC, very little damage output, and they don't draw aggro hardly at all compared to base game. I dread using some of my other builds/characters lol. The Sunflower Boss beat my ass more than any other boss in the DLC.

What a spectacle, 40 minutes for the first kill is phenomenally good. Interested what build will be recommended in the walkthrough for this fight. Greatshield plus spear seems to be the most consistent setup here, mix in some Scarlet Rot pots and this becomes relatively doable.

Radahn was the only fight I had to give up on summoning just because it's so hard to find a good opening to. I think the best is as soon as you dodge the initial gravity charge at the start but you gotta get it as soon as you come out of the dodge. Either way, I got it without so it's whatevs.

The best way to kill him other than use the stone shield to cheese, is put a lot of armor and cast holy damage negation. Use Scarlet Aeonia and Mimic tear, just survive long enough wait the scarlet rot destroy him again 🤭. Weapon choice is not too important as without shield, you will just spent 90% time dodging and drink potion instead of attack him. Don't use weapon with any elemental damage as he resist, avoid heavy weapon so you can invest more in armor. Bloody helice is best as it has bleed without fire damage. Radahn less resistant to bleed and scarlet rot.

My main issues with the DLC so far have mainly been 1. The bosses all seem to charge in some way right at that start, prohibiting you from summoning any ashes. 2. It seems in the DLC the bosses are conpletely uninterested in my summons, and for that matter, my summons also seem completely uninterested in the boss! And 3. They all seem to spam their attacks insanely fast, giving absolutely zero breathing space.

Something I had to notice was that Radahn uses a bloodflame attack which leads me to believe that mohgs body was used to bring radahn back but without his great rune he’s not as large.

Bleed, rot, poison and frostbite are all good in this fight, especially on fast hitting weapons Also that was a great way to beat the DLC final boss you literally pulled a Hoarah Loux your character drops his weapon/shield and starts wrapping bandages around his hands "I have given you courtesy enough, now I fight you not as an Elden Lord or Lord of Frenzied flame, but a tarnished warrior, a slayer of mortals and gods, but I will not be bested by a lesser Lord and his bussy boi!" proceeds to fight Radahn Tekken style

That machine gun crossbow knight in the first mausoleum you encounter, judging by the let's play. Or that Furnace Golem with armoured feet. He spent several episodes trying to figure that one out.

So is this like a different pre-release version of the DLC or something? Cause Radahn fight here is 100% a different version than the one i fought. In my playthrough, The sky changes colors, Looks very cool, And he ALWAYS uses a super sick Meteor attack to kick off his third phase, Neither of these things are present here. Sucks cause i was really looking forward to seeing your reaction to it.

That entire ring pulls in only one direction not to the center. Radahn was facing away so he got pushed away.

You’d think Miquella would bring back Godwyn. There’s a lot of stuff in the base game to imply they were closer. Miquella even tried to bring him back via an eclipse. The story could have made it so that Godwyn was brought back into a body made from Radahn and Mogh’s corpses. It makes me think they’re might be another DLC, maybe about Godwyn and Rykard (not enough reveals around snakes here).

miquella wants to create a new order, and to do that he needs as his lord someone who can fight and win wars for him, which radahn is perfect for as he is giga strong and basically lives for war. marika chose godfrey/hoarah loux for the same reason

No Godwyn was never an option. He's dead dead. We had an entire questline proving that. Also they said this is the only DLC for Elden Ring. They could however pull a dark souls 3 and somehow bring Godwyn in similar to how we got the nameless king in ds3.

As far as lore goes, Godwyn cannot be brought back due to Ranni killing his soul. What happened here is Miquella put Radahn's soul into Mogh's body then transformed the body to resemble prime Radahn, hence why they both have to be dead for you to enter the DLC. Would be nice to see them find some way around bringing Godwyn back though, would love more stuff about him.

He already tried to bring back Godwyn and failed, that's what the whole lore at Castle Sol was about.

@@AnnAyn Nothing stopping him from trying again. Who knows how crazy the Shadowlands' rules are. Being in the Shadowlands could have allowed Miquella to access his soul.
