UPDATE - You can throw the spear while riding Torrent and charge throw it as well LOL. This weapon is awesome! One last video for the night. I need some serious sleep lol. Showcasing messmer's weapon moveset. Pretty solid weapon and even has ranged option, with reloading spears once it explodes. I might start using this weapon as it's pretty versatile. Let me know what other weapons you guys want to see. Cheers

Amazing, only thing I’m a little disappointed with is that it doesn’t have a unique slash move set for the light attacks, but everything else is awsome.

A bit disappointed that its great spear and not a halberd. Would have loved it if its R1 string had slashing attacks not just thrusts. But that Ash of War makes up for that. Its pretty insane. Not to mention its scaling; the weapon is practically made for my DLC build.

During the Fight againts Mesmer, he was wielding this spear with elegance and lightness , while in the hands of the player/tarnished, it is a slow moving, seem to be too heave for us to use it effectively....

Me too literally I've been fighting him for 6 hours and I just beat him and I've been staring at the monitor for like 5 minutes and I was just a hair from death I just can't believe my heart is beating so fast

Yeah Messmer originally does 5 stabs instead of 3 before the big AOE but guess we aren’t good enough

its ok. Not sure if you can muscle enemies with this weapon. It's good to throw and pick off enemies but you're not gonna stun the bigger enemies to death. They will swipe through the ash of war and smack you.

@@Rubhen925 there is a way for it to work, Grafted Greatsword - it gives 5 second of infinite poise, so you can swap to Messmer Spear and freely smack bosses with it. I used it on Malenia Hand AoW, and Magma Blade sometimes.

Not really. The throw attack doesn’t really do much damage at all. The Ash of war is pretty good, but heavier enemies nearly hit you out of it.

OP against NPC. Literally just deleted Gideon with 2 full skill on NG+3. On the other hand the weapon throw is pretty good against slow enemies or Scadutree Avatar.

Weapon art is awesome. However unfortunately it’s far too long. Bosses in DLC all attack rapidly not leaving much openings. It’ll be tough to get it off correctly and will need to be timed and positioned for every use.

There are build calculators you can find online that will tell you all the math. Idk if they’re updated yet for the new patch but talk can check

I’d recommend getting at least 50-60in dex and 50-60 in faith and the rest as you see fit those are the main stats though for the damage of the weapon

ideally scorpion fire charm to increase fire dmg, alexander talisman to increase the dmg of the aow, rotten winged sword insignia to boost aow dmg since you attack so fast, and last can be millicents prothesis if you want even more dmg or dragoncrest greatshield cause youll probably be getting hit using the aow

@@Rubhen925 You can use the Remembrance Duplication Coffins. They are new ways to duplicate remembrances in the DLC..

@@Rubhen925 There are new ones in the DLC but they are just coffins or dead alters. If you go to Finger Ruins of Rhia there is one there semi-near waypoint. If you just don't go down ramp from waypoint, go to other side of cliff and there is one around there.
