Even with it “finished”, I guarantee you haven’t played it all. I’ve got a solid 250+ hours on my save & still don’t even have all the weapons/armors. Still countless corners of the game I’ve never seen, and I’ve platinum’d it. I didn’t even discover deeproot depths until over 100 hours.

From what Miyazaki has said in interviews, these are the Shadow Lands where Marika originates from, something happened to have it become disconnected from the Erdtree. Miquella has come here to retrace his mother's steps, but Messmer the Impaler seems to be its ruler, and sits in the same throne the Demi Gods have outside the Erdtree. Pilgrims have followed Miquella here to be friendly NPCs as we track down Miqulla on their journey. Considering his red hair and how he calls for his mother, Messmer may be a bastard Empyrean.

I honestly think he's Miquella and Malenias brother. It fits in with the third butterfly type - smoldering, and fits the naming convention of that generation - names starting with M. My suspicion is that in the same way Melania is plagued by the Rot Goddess, Messemer is plagued by the formless mother, hence his almost blood flame look to the fire he weilds

The fire looks a bit like the magma of the wyrms But I’m honestly 50/50 on this and hoping it’s more formless mother lore

Elden Ring is already my favorite game of all time, and to see this DLC being this big only affirms that this team still got it, I’m still blown away by this trailer, the music, the new weapons, bosses, pure artistry on display. God bless From Software man. ❤

Probably my favourite game of all time too, man. Can't wait for this DLC. I never pre-ordered games or DLC since I was a little kid and learnt my lesson the hard way from Fable 3 and Dragon Age 2, lol. But I made an exception this time, pre-ordered it the instant I heard it was out and watched the trailer. This game, and the people who created it, are something special. It's really once-in-a-lifetime creative genius in my opinion.

The painting at 1:03 has many creepy facts: 1. The woman has something engraved in her belly. It very much resembles the Black Knife, as if she was stabbed by it like Godwyn. 2. The man has a hole in his head (left). He also has a big strange bulge over his right shoulder. He has deathroot eyes spread everywhere, even on his robe, look closely to the left for the bigger ones. 3. He also seems to be missing his entire torso. There are little openings in his robe from which light comes through, and ends up on what i think is his heart. I think we are seeing what remains of him, his head, heart, and arms (although very much deformed in the elbow area). Something yellow-ish is both growing on his arms (right forearm) and devouring him (right elbow), and i think it's connected to that bulge on his right shoulder. That bulge may be a really big (closed) deathroot eye. Things you can't unsee. Really frightening.

Guys listen, the voice at the end that sais: "I will not be far behind, may we meet again", is Miquella. My evidence is that in a lore video of Vaatividya he said that Miquella has a voice actress that is credited in the game already, and that actress is the same as stone trader Chloanne from Dark souls 2. If you listen to her and this dialog in the trailer, it is the same voice. That plus the other clues mentioned by a lot of people of how we will follow Miquella's footsteps or whatever. I think is safe to assume that Miquella will either accompany us (kind of like Melina), or maybe we will encounter him through out the dlc. Maybe the new power up system that Miyazaki mentioned is provided to us by Miquella. Just thought it was worth pointing out since I haven't seen anyone mention it yet.

I just want to make it clear how excited I am for this DLC. I have always loved open world games (since I first played botw in 2018). When I first played Elden Ring, I instantly loved the whole experience. It was a first time for me getting beaten over and over by these amazing bosses whom I eventually beat. I could explore anywhere and customize my build however I wanted to. Life was also fun in general for me while I played the game. I would do anything to experience my first playthrough again. This DLC will be no short of a masterpiece and I know fromsoft will cook up.

The incantation with the butterflies is definitely Miquella’s Sleep incantation equivalent to Malenia’s Scarlet Aeonia incantation. They were so flashy if you look at how your character moves so elegantly during Scarlet Aeonia and u look at the incantation in the trailer it gives the same vibe. I can’t wait to cosplay as Miquella
