You can't look up things you have no idea exist, so videos like this really help show you things you would have never known

This is my first youtube comment, but this is such a good guide I cant help but make a suggestion for the people like me that didnt get into it until now. This is my first Souls game, but this should help you save time. 1. Do everything he does, except waste time on the somber 7 stone, there is a dip in the rocks where you drop down in Volcano Manor, where he drops was patched, dont waste time on the ledge jump, just accept youre not getting the 7 yet. 2. Dont waste time farming the dragon for runes. When he levels his sword to +9 pause the guide, and go to the Atlus Highway Junction grace to farm and practice. Be careful at night, that night calvary is a pain in the ass. As long as you dont get too close you wont agro it. There is a variety of enemies in the area for you to practice fighting on horseback and on foot(including a knight you can get the brass shield from, 3 1100xp trolls you can practically get to kill themselves, riders on horseback, foot soldiers with shield and spears, and one of those brass head mfs.) Its not the best as far as rune per minute farming, but the time you save not attempting the jump and the dragon, you can spend mastering the timing of weapon and its skill, and how the camera moves when locked on. After an hour or two, when I got comfortable fighting the knight on the platform (without falling off or getting hit, on horseback and on foot) I easily leveled vigor str and dex to 25, if you want something else to dump levels in, youll be abusing bloodhound finesse, so throw in some focus(I got faith to 12 because I know I'm using poison mist at some point.) Then go back to the guide after you've leveled and got your 6+ or... 3. This is where I got cocky and decided to fight Margit before continuing the guide, just to see if I had actually gotten better, and if I really missed out that much not getting the +9. Beat him first time with the floor summon and the wolf summon. They distract him enough you can finnesse him to death. By now you should know the timing of the L2 R2. I still have 30 min left in the next video and I'm not making another comment on the other video. 1. Dont R2 Patches, you will kill him. 2. Kill the monkeys before you try to talk to the NPC, they will follow you apparently and people are killing him accidentally, if you do he drops a golden seed. 3. You have to travel to another grace, then back at night for the shack, even if you didnt fight Margit like I did, this mini boss battle is as easy is he makes it look if you did what I told you in the first video. As soon as he begins materializing you can lock on, and as soon as you can lock on you can begin the first strike of the BHF, 2 full BHF will stagger him, appreciate how easy that was and finish him. 4. Theres also an ash of war where the jellies are.

As a new player to Elden Ring, and not a pro gamer, this was seriously one of the most helpful videos ever. I literally went through this step by step and it took me a little while because I had to start and stop and go back a few times but absolutely would recommend this to ANY new player. I have to thank you so very much for this. I'm a 46 year old longtime gamer and i got this game about a month ago.I was really excited but my lack of experience and knowledge quickly put the breaks on my efforts. I'd give it a go every day but I was SO lost. Never played any fromsoft games at all ever before this, and to me this was a difficult game experience because I just didn't have a clue what I was supposed to be doing or what anything did. Sure I read up on it but alotta things were just simply to geared towards previous souls games players so the basics they'd cover were kinda way over the heads of the basics I needed to get how it all connected. I found this vid when my char was a lvl 16 vagabond and getting creamed by the golden knight daily and that boss I think stunted my thinking cause I didn't realize the trap it was and thought damn if in getting roflstomped this bad already by an opening boss maybe I just cant handle these newer games. This vid though was so accurately detailed and you always took time to explain the plot behind the actions. Not just the what's but the whys and that turned around everything for me. Just finished the first vid and this included me taking 3 hours on the volcano jump (no joke I didn't realize it had been nerfed since the release). The rest though went quite quickly and really helped me learn important stuff like opening battle moves and stuff maybe taken for granted by the experienced souls gamers but totally unknown to noob me. I cant thank you enough because I knew there was something special about this game, was why I kept trying, and this opened the curtains to just how special it just might be, I just needed a compass and a crash course in the basics and the goals. And getting to gut stomp that golden *#$@ at the end was like... Heaven. Again thanks, this went a bit long but this really mattered and helped me to enjoy this finally, and also to give me the foundation ill need for future characters and playthroughs. Much respect bro.

The jump has been patched, you can still make it to the bottom just don’t jump off the edge gently walk where the 2 rocks have a dip and land but after running past the slugs and guy on the bridge that jump is patched 🙃

Ok I made the vulcano jump.. you have to jump at least 5 meter before the point he drops in the video, right before a small boulder. This way you land on the same kind of beach near the lava and you survive the drop.. Hope it helps!

I’m already past all this, but it’s actually really cool to see a walkthrough that takes a completely different approach than the other walkthroughs and “get OP quick” videos. Those all follow the same path mostly, but Jumpin’s early route is different, which is kinda cool.

At about 2:06:00 there is a tower just west of the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite grace that has the pulley bow, one of the best in the game. I was exploring during your Volcano Manner Noob’s guide and I found it. Thank you for all your work on these guides! I would have given up on this game long ago without them.

That feel good feeling from helpin fellow gamers out. Props and respect man. I used this as a "make sure you did this" type of video. I missed a few things early on, but most of it I discovered on my own and kinda grooved into once I learned how to move around and avoid certain enemies. Discovering is definitely part of the secret to progressing. It makes enemies from past locations a breeze and excellent for training your combat skills/motions. I did however, get a lot of ruins..ended up dying and then not realizing I could grab them, must of missed that during some point. But yeah, lost like 4k runes. Then I see you, and a dragon, and am like.........................................................

If it gives anybody hope, I made the jump down the lava and then off the giant gear to get the somber smithing stone 7 today! I kept dying sliding down into the lava but I found if you slide down a few feet to the right where he slides down in the video, you'll land on a little piece of rock that's protuding out and won't die. As for for the jump to the smithing stone, I got it in just a few tries by sprint jumping, holding the spring button in midair, and aiming just ever so slightly to the right of the corner of the ledge that's sticking out. I hope this helps!

I honestly don't think I'd be able to figure this all out on my own. I understand the game doesn't hold your hand and while I enjoy a challenge, I just don't have the time these days to master a game like this. It's an amazing game and I feel that this walkthrough is absolutely amazing. It lets gamers like myself that have avoided souls games to finally experience them without feeling lost. I do my own farming and exploring and when I am stumped, I'll return here to be guided. Thanks for your video!

If anyone is struggling with getting past the Godskin boss to get the Somber stone #7 or cant get the jump, I highly recommend the Farum Azula quit out trick (bunch of videos on that), then continue this awesome guide. Before I went I leveled the Bloodhound fang to 6 and could two shot the enemies at Farum Azula with the sword chain attack. There are several graces along the way not to mention the enemies here give you over 1200 runes each. I pulled them with bone darts one at a time. Then at the dragon section after first grace just run past right between his legs. Thank you Jumpin for all your videos.

Im sure I’m just one of many who realized too late that the stone 7 jump has been patched, but there is still a way, I managed to beat godskin at this low level using 4 sleeping pots, from there you can follow another KZfaq guide avoiding enemies all the way to the stone. I urge my fellow noobs to use that method and not give up on the stone 🎉

I'm not a very good gamer when it comes to combat games. I really do poorly at boss fights, too, so this game is very intimidating to me. But it's a genre I love, so I want to be able to play it and not get frustrated. Your tutorial is so helpful. Your teaching style is good and easy to follow. I love the advice and tips you give. I would like to say thank you for this tutorial. My daughter gave me this game for Father's day and after a few hours I still could barely get through the first tutorial without almost dying. I have almost exclusively played First Person Shooters and I could not figure out why this thing would not swing when I wanted or even how to guard properly. Especially since so many games I've played had an instant strike. I watched 4 or 5 videos on how to fight even and it seemed like they always took for granted that the viewer already knew how to fight. I mean seriously, so many videos and I I still couldn't guard strike. You were the first tutor that said, "So just put your shield up and stand there until they hit you. Then hit them back!" I was so anticipating the reflex reactionary timing of a point and shoot i thought you had to time the guard perfectly so I was getting slammed for an couple of hours. I mean I love a challenge but the gameplay was so foreign I just couldn't even progress. I was ready to smile and say I liked it to my daughter and hope she just eventually forgot about it. I am only 1/2 way through the video but I'm really starting to understand the mechanics enough to really enjoy playing. I thank whole heartedly. I mean really there is nothing sadder than your kid saying, "If you don't like it,you can take it back." Honestly, she said she was sorry to me twenty times in the first 2 hours. It was so disheartening. But now I can't wait to show her my improvement. I mean it. This tutorial is really a game changer for me.

Died lots of times jumping down the branches at the tower in Caelid. Finally got to the bottom and there was a simple path from near the dragon lake….woulda been easier. But great video!

Having watched this video for pretty much 2 hours straight I was super frustrated to be one of the many noob players completely unaware of the Volcano Manor patch / issues / difficulties. It even seems like now the Talisman you get before going into VM doesn't act in the same way it used to and the drop from the cliff at the front (for me at least) only ends in death. I'm guessing this means I'm essentially now stuck having to work through Volcano Manor as my first "real" experience in this game? Being that everything up until this point has been prepping?!

FYI. As of 12-22-2022 you can still do the lava jump but not like the video shows. You have to fall down to a little ledge right beneath the main rock then jump from that and you can make it. I kept dying like everyone else by jumping from that main ledge.

In regards to the volcano jump.... Theres a small drop near where he says to go from. Drop onto that rock & then down. Landed it first time after failing 10 times doing it his way, deffo been patched

I don’t think people realize how special this series is for new players. Jumpin pretty much taught me everything I know about souls games, starting from dark souls one. Real OG to the souls community. Also it’d be really nice if you put timestamps on key items and bosses. To help us 100% the game too.

1:50:21 lol. Like many in the comments, I didn't read the comments and spent 1 hour trying to make the jump. haha! Then I searched to try and hear someone else explain the jump and found out the patch history. I ended up farming giants to level up my dex to continue on with episode 2's boss battles. Today, I went to Crumbling Farum Azula via False Warp and got the somber 7! So now I'm well equipped to keep on learning the game from this tutorial walkthrough. Thank you for making it! (I'm on episode 3, just killed the lake dragon) Without this guide, I wouldn't know how to play right now!

Is that jump from the chain wheel to the ledge still possible? I've been trying for days and no luck

The sprint jump to the smithing stone on the bridge in Volcano Manor is no longer possible. The last patch nerfed it :(

If you’re a medium load you can jump straight down off the side of the lava waterfall in volcano manor took me hours to figure a way around the patch but drop down with decent vigor and at least 5 flasks you should be able to just jump down heal and walk your way through I’ve done it multiple times after almost rage quitting the fall

I have played for around 60 hours and still class myself (and play like) a noob. I learned more in the first hour of this guide than in all previous efforts. Salutations, maidenfull knight!

It looks like they patched this last jump at 2:21:16 in v1.04 I've tried so many times, than I realized that the edge is thinner now. So u can't stand there. Is there some alternative for somber smithing stone 7?

I got the brass shield off the 4th guy I killed. Thanks for the guide, I know the 7th stone isn't able to be gotten as easy anymore which sucks but I am going to stick with the guide as much as I can. If anything doesn't work anymore, I will find out about it. lol Everything except for the 7th somber stone was good in this video though.

Love this guide, really clear and easily followed, just a shame the bridge jump no longer works in Volcano Manor. Anyone found somewhere else to get a Somber 7 earlier on?

Does anyone know if the jump for somber stone (7) at 1:54:29 has been patched. Have light load (practically naked, and following all intructoion but i just keep bouncing off the top of the wall. Seems there is no ledge to land on anymore. Anyone else tried since last patch? Edit: Definitely patched. There is no ledge to land on, they have closed the gap with smaller ledge. :(
