@@SakushuRonin08 Yes. Bayle, who was even older than Placidusax, betrayed and challenged him. Bayle went for Placi's heads, but Placi was smarter and went for Bayle's wings and legs to try and immobilise him. However Bayle somehow managed to escape when he realised he wouldn't be killing Placi. Given that he seems to be able to grow magic wings out of sheer spite he probably did so to escape. After that he cannibalised other dragons (including his own children and descendants) to recover much of his former strength while Placi hid away after his god fled.

Idk if anyone has noticed, but some of Placidusax’s disembodied heads still have their jaw clamped down on Bayle’s neck. I think that’s a good attention to detail considering their lore.

The problem is that idk what the creator set the scadu tree level for the bosses to but Bayle v Placidusax was not realistic, with Bayle nearly 3 shotting him in the first seconds, since every scadu level is ~4-5% dmg & defence more it’s obvious none of these bosses can win when his healthpool is inflated

@@andreybelyshev5093 all of the lesser dragons are drakes. Here's how you can tell, it's basically fantasy creature info: Drakes wings are their arms like bats. Dragon's have normal arms AND separate wings. Plac and his ancient DRAGONS have arms and wings, Bayle and his lesser dragons(drakes) have wing-arms. Though Bale mostly just has nubs with wing tatters on them and grows magical wings out of pure spite and malice. Also like, literally just look at them and compare to their anatomy and aesthetics to the ancient dragons and the drakes and it's pretty blatant. Also the lore just tells you.

@gummyboots that's not really true, a drake is a loose term but it refers to a dragon like creature with 4 limbs and no wings (like a big lizard). In the game there are 2 lesser dragons that are distinctively labeled as drakes, these "drakes" are of bayles brood and you can tell by the orange ligghtning/fire they have. One is also shown in a death match with another lesser dragon so if they were all from bayle I don't think they would be depicted killing eachother. And on an unrelated note the lesser dragons are more like wyverns, as in 2 legs 2 wings, modern fantasy doesn't really care about which is which however

Bayle might counter Malenia completely. Not only does he have monstrous damage and health, but his agility allowed him to avoid the scarlet rot without any issue as well. Very impressive.

Don't think doing massive damage is really countering, because any boss with massive damage can do just that, other stuff don't matter. Kinda makes the fight boring. Some of the old bosses landed more hits but still ended up losing to 1 massive hit.

Whats makes Bayle so interesting is the fact that he wasnt an Ancient dragon, and was infact a regular dragon/wyvern that we kill so commonly in the lands between. This Mf rosed up and decided to kill the elden lord (of his time) that was an upgrade of his race but way stronger. No victors that caused both of them to be severly wounded permanently. RESPECT

Bayle is described as the oldest of all dragons, and this is by another ancient dragon. He probably is an ancient dragon of sorts or maybe the last remnant of an older form of dragon that the ancient dragons descend from. But still, to fight an ancient dragonlord and force a stalemate is badass.

That looked so awesome. Usually these fights don't look great because the boss movesets aren't designed for them to fight each other, but this fight between Bayle and Malenia was awesome and looked legit too with how Malenia went for his head and his wounded leg in phase one, but Bayle was just too much for her with his insane reach, HP, fire lightning, etc.

I like how the only reason Malenia usually somewhat holds her own in these videos is because she can heal. That and Mogh's Nihil lets him take a good chunk of hp which sometimes turns the tide in his favor. Not this time tho guys. Learn the moveset you sillly npcs

My boy Maliketh did great, considering he has no health and poise plus his destined death deals much less damage to DLC bosses than the base ones. Still, I believe he could have won here if he had more health. Gurranq is just a waste of health especially against these new bosses :)

Is it just me, or does destined death seem to do less damage on these DLC bosses? Furnace golems are already completely immune to it and blackflame, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's some low DoT multiplier given to them..

Makes sense they are resistant to it to an extent. After all the difficulty of the doc was made in mind so its not possible to easily defeat the bosses without having scadutree fragments.

Placidusax fight was sweet, considering their fight is the reason they are both messed up pretty bad. Bayle took some of placidusax’s heads and placidusax took bayles leg and part of a wing in return or vise versa lol.

Considering the raw damage and his higher aggression. Its no wonder this is possibly the hardest boss in the dlc. They literally give you a summon with a weapon to help weaken the boss, but trying to summon him will likely get yoy killed

I think the design is dope. I especially like the idea that his left foot is cut off as hugging the left back leg was a common strategy for a lot of dragon fights innsouls games. I love the exposed bone being used as a sword that he charges with his red fire/lightning magic. The phases are badass too

After watching this video and looking at Bayle WITHOUT the threat of getting absolutely bodied, I noticed a neat lil detail. Bayle is missing a leg. He shuffles around on a stump and his dismembered wings. In Phase 2, he grows wings out of pure spite and takes to the skies anyway. Igon, the NPC, is ALSO missing a leg. And when we find him for the second time, he gives us a furled finger to summon him, claiming that his Spirit still has fight in it. His Spirit, of course, still has arms and legs. How cool is it that both Igon and Bayle are simply too angry to be cripples?
