This is one of my FAVORITE pies my grossmommie(grandma) used to make!
The Videos in this playlist are apart of The Pies of March Collaboration which is hosted by the Mennonite Farmhouse Channel and Kettle Kitchen Channel on KZfaq. This Collaboration was an inspiration to give you ideas for holiday pies for Easter. Please leave a comment on each of the videos to increase your chance of winning the Grand prize of a $100 gift card that will be chosen at random from a random video that is a part of the collaboration. I've never done anything with the elderberries we have here on our homestead. The birds get them as fat as they come on. I'll have to try and beat them this year. Thank you for sharing.

We had an elderberry bush when I was a little girl. We would eat them, but my mom never made a pie with them. Thank you for sharing this and for the memories they created.

I've never seen an Elderberry pie. My Aunt always made Elderberry jelly, which I love! Your pie looked good, bet some vanilla ice cream with that would be awesome! LOL

I love the combination of applesauce and the elderberry's, I have heard of elderberry pie but had no idea what it looked like. You pie really looks delicious and I think it would be a refreshing pie not to sweet but a great way to end a big meal. Thank you for sharing this pie it is on my list of to make pies.

I'm glad to see you use dehydrated elderberries because that is the only way I can find them here. I'm hoping to get some bushes or starts to grow bushes here on our tiny homestead soon. I'll be making this one definitely.

I have not had elderberry pie in many years. Elderberries are not in season here right now and I am looking for somewhere that I can pick them, as I don't have any room to grow them at my home. My garden takes up so much room. I WILL KEEP THIS ON HAND for when the berries come in season. I love elderberries and they are very healthy for you as well. Thank you for sharing your family heritage also with this recipe.

Never had Elderberry anything. But I do know someone thar grows them. This looks good. Never thought to put applesauce in the bottom. I would think it would make it soggy.

It was a bit runny didn’t gel up the way fresh elderberrys do and it had a different texture than fresh do . Its not really a sweet pie and that catches some people off guard.

Hi Dawn! It’s been a few years since I’ve had an elderberry pie! Yours looks delicious! I’ve never seen Apple sauce added before. That’s intriguing! I would highly recommend using fresh elderberrys these rehydrated ones gave a weird texture

Thank you for the tip. Seems fresh will be plumper. By the way, love your strainer! Looks like a nice size!
