I grew up foraging berries with my Cherokee mother. She made elderberry jelly which I never liked. When I learned how high in vitamin C it was, I foraged some by the side of a country road and went home and made a tincture. Wow! It’s better than the expensive hard bitter supplement I was trying to choke down every day -I had chronic sinus problems and the tincture fixed that! 👍🏼

About a year and a half ago we made some Elderberry Syrup (Elderberry, honey, clove, ginger). I diluted it down to a specific gravity of about 1.100, added yeast, and turned it into wine. After bottling it, we stored it in a nice dark place and forgot about it until about a month ago. Absolutely the best wine we've ever made. Full bodied, fantastic flavor. We're down to one bottle and I'm regretting not having started another batch or two.

I got to see you touring the fields, bringing harvest in, watching the separator work, and placing cleaned berries into buckets. Terry also showcased his products, one of which was elderberry jelly! I thought to myself, now, would this be good as my grandmother used to make from her berries? I placed an order and received it fairly quickly! Ohhh my! It was hard to believe it! Just like my grandmother's jelly! I cried with happiness! Try some, you will be surprised! Also ordered juice. Kept me well all winter! Little goes a long way. Fantastic and Very timely! I have american elderberries coming next week. I have a little creek/ ditch along one side of the property that needs something to help hold the soil and create a hedge row.

What an amazing video jam packed with so much information! Looking forward to the day when we have a piece of land of our own when we start our homestead. Elderberry will be one the first things I start to grow!

I always keep an eye out for them when they bloom wild here in Indiana. I love watching them start to fruit and ripen. Love making wine and jelly with berries. But I've learned so many other things to make with them watching your channel! Hope to be able to have a place to grow my own eventually. Thanks for all this wonderful info. I must admit Terry's berry shaker system would make processing them soooo much easier and less time consuming.

Here, in East-Europe we like our elderberries as well. They grow spontaneously in my garden. Luckly I discovered how useful they are just before starting to butcher them. I think I have to use them even more. Thank you for all the info!

Very interesting. Here in British Columbia we have a wild elderberry, a red one, which is poisonous if eaten raw. To use this one, I would have to learn to cook them. Probably much safer for me to get some American ones.

Pretty sure ALL elderberries are poisonous in large quantities if they are uncooked.

We live in north east Nebraska , on a farm with a huge homestead area. We have lots of elderberries, and the birds plant lots all over , just have to watch them so close before the birds get them all ! I do wAter some of mine , I did have issues with a bug that was a elderberry borer , this early spring . I went out every day looking for them . They did do some damage until I figured out what they were , I don’t ever remember seeing them before . Yumm can’t wait to harvest a lot again this year

We have the wild ones growing in my yard and woods and the chickens spend all day when they are ripe eating them. The plants are so thick that they make good predator protection too.

Just planted my rootings from Terry. I've always been somewhat of a prepper/homesteader. You guys have definitely uped my game. Thx to you guys I'm fermenting (Masontops), using Redmond salt and bentonite clay and now adding to my BlackBerry n Blueberry crops with Terry's products. Thank you and God bless.

I just planted 3 blue elderberry’s. I live on the Oregon coast so I hope they do well. Our soil had compost and when I was digging the hole found a potato growing. They were from an Oregon organic farmer rooted.

In the last few years we have been foraging berries in the mountains (I live in Oregon). Last year we found elderberries, I picked a lot. I have 43 quart ziploc bags in my freezer. I made elderberry syrup, my daughter did not get sick all winter (during the school year), my son would have faired better if he had taken a shot of it as well.

Last year I planted elderberry cuttings from River Hills Harvest. I live in West Texas which can be very hot and dry, so i was very excited when one cutting survived. This year it is doing awesome and I'm so excited to see how it grows this year. At this time we haven't had rain since August, but it is still doing very well.
