Electric Fuel Pump Install in A Bug

This video shows how I install an electric fuel pump in a Type 1 VW Bug. We have to address a few additional items as well, (clogged stock fuel line, and wiring) but nothing you may not have done before. The advantage of an electric fuel pump is a consistent psi, the elimination of the mechanical pump on the engine (though minimal it's still parasitic drag), and the clean aesthetic of losing all those additional hoses on your engine.
This is a detailed look at all the extras I put into my work so enjoy the show.

Another great video! Funny how Carter will have this same pump assembly offered by many vendors. I have the same setup in the back of my 69 BMW (dual sidedraft carbs), but I added an enertia (accident) switch and relay.

I like to add fuel pump oil pressure cut off switch , so pump is not running with key on only when there is oil pressure. It's a a nice safety device .

Nice and clean. I think I’ll redo my set up soon. I pick up power for the fuel pump off the brake light switch.

I used to do that. I prefer a clean power supply off a relay.

Did you see my install video too? Did exactly the same thing with the fittings and hoses! From the rear line installed a square style squareback style fuel filter. Uploaded it earlier of the week.
