I was curious , On the master Cylinder for the front, one side looks to have a residual valve on one wheel but not the other? why is that? On my bus I have a residual valve on both front lines and one going to the back. Used same type master as you have but my master doesnt have any residual valves on it. my brakes seem really hard to get good stopping power. I have to press pretty hard . Any comments?
@the_Wagen5 күн бұрын
My Master Cylinder was from Empi Most likely a different manufacturer. This is a 4 wheel disc master cylinder. Residual valves have been removed.
@jonreed78295 күн бұрын
@@the_Wagen Thanks, but it looks like those brass pieces in the MC are still attached and you connected your brake lines to them. they are pointed to the driver side I think. arent those residual valves?

Another great video! I replaced the original CB hex bar linkage that came with my dual Dellorto 40 assembly after a few years - with a Berg linkage. Had to order (2) longer arms from Berg to reach the throttle shafts. Huge difference in throttle response and lighter pressure on the pedal.

When you did get it running, almost sounded like the fan was noisy - perhaps the nut was loose or the fan was scraping against the sheetmetal. Also at full suspension droop, the muffler was up against the RR brake caliper.
@the_Wagen20 күн бұрын
Fan is fine. The muffler does touch the caliper at full drop. This car rides extremely low. It’s nowhere near it while driving. Good eye. 👍🏽

Hey George! Chad T here. You shortened my 69 chassis for a Berry Mini T in 2016 and I'm finally getting around to building it! Quick question. How did you cover the differential for the tamale when you put it in the "dishwasher" at 29 minutes in? Looks like you used orange duct tape? Any pointers here would be great! Thanks man.

I use a smaller diameter Porsche 356 generator pulley in my alternator to get more fan speed and help with cooling (fan is welded and balanced, of course). The crank pulley is a Gene Berg Achiever. I need to check which number size I have.

@@the_Wagen Understood, would be great if you made the sleeves for the type 3 already bent with the stud and holes already drilled. That wat all I would have to do is unbolt the coller , cut and drill the hole for the lower sleeve to bolt to the beam. I don't have access to welding equipment where I'm located. Is the pre-bent sleeve ideal a possible item you could make and sell??

I had my Bug almost a year. I like to go dual carbs, but I like to know is it worth doing does it make the engine run better or save gas? I see people do it. I’m just curious cause I would like to do it. I have a 1641 engine I was looking at you, Solex carbs, is it worth getting?
@the_Wagen28 күн бұрын
If you are looking to upgrade, I’d suggest upgrading the ignition at the same time. Stock components and just adding dual carbs works if everything else works well. 👍🏽
@rodvisser158028 күн бұрын
Yeah, I got the ignition added already I’m just trying to look for consistency. It’s my daily driver. It’s nice and clean engine, nice and clean transmission nice and clean. no oil anywhere. that’s why I was wondering if dual carburetters would help my car out. thank you for your time for helping me.
@the_Wagen28 күн бұрын
If I were to add dial carbs, I’d stay with an IDF / HPMX platform. Kadrons, Solex, ICT’s are not my favorite.
@jimgerock919014 күн бұрын
@@the_Wagenmy Squareback came with Weber 34ICT carbs and Empi components. I also have the CB manifold and crossbar linkage (not installed yet). Tell us why you don’t like these carbs. I had a set on my 75 Beetle back around 1988.
@the_Wagen14 күн бұрын
@@jimgerock9190THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. ICT carbs seem to have blown throttle shafts out of the box. Plus most single throat carbs are "sloppy". The IDF design(dual throat) revs quickly when properly tuned, and are more efficient.
@vayabroder72928 күн бұрын
The Ross Wulf parts look amazing as well. I wish they had a 356 sized alternator pulley setup. I use those to get a higher fan speed and aid in cooling.
