Hey Jello and the BVR team. We're now a few videos in and I gotta say your smashing it out of the park! The production values are great but also, Jello, you've really taken to the visual aspects while retaining the Jelloisms and all the things that make the FPP great. I think Part 108 being drafted by the FAA for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations for small unmanned aerial vehicles will probably be a stepping stone (or a small scale version) of what they’ll probably do for these larger remotely operated or autonomous operated aircraft. So excited to see what the future holds as this kind of technology comes to market and how the FAA integrates them into the national airspace system. Keep up the great podcasts Jello!

Pretty impressive stuff. That Star Wars analogy was a good one too, just thinking of autonomous conveyances taking us whereever we go. Maybe there's a taxi job out there too like the 5th Element...Corbin Dallas style. The future is here...

This was fascinating. As was the previous autonomy podcast. As a mainly audio listener are you able to link media into the patreon page. Ie when I’ve listened I can come back and have a quick look at some of the media via links? Separately the comment about the more relaxed podcasts. Can I suggest a “crew” show - you could make it part of the patreon perks possibly. So an extra show which does listener stuff? Could be audio only I’m sure.

Hmmm... good interview. The idea of developing relationships with private industry (like this) is a great idea. But the whole "electric" thing, I'm still not sold on. Possibly as a utility vehicle of some sorts, maybe. Our electric aircraft is out of 'fuel' - dust off the old archaic gas powered helo to haul in a diesel powered generator to recharge it! Still a long ways to go (in my opinion). -smile Otherwise, a very informative and interesting interview. I guess we will have to see where this goes. Thanks for the podcast Jello!

A 'no carbon' equation is most likely not going to be in the mix at first. A "Hybrid Power Generation Cart" or APU for craft is an obvious solution and ready safety measure for situations of extremes. A small efficient APU over/under the center of gravity is more than very doable.

Electrical is the way to go in the aeronautical industry no doubt. I can see where is going in a not to fart future but it's not what most people think. The propellers or blades will be replaced by an electro magnetic proportion engine where there is no need for propellers. I already have this technology but it is not for sale or distribution however some one else will come up with similar technology because is not so difficult and the timing is right. Glory to God.

Why is it having an APU on these aircraft like just ignored? I think it is dumb from a redundancy standpoint to have some kind of back fuel powered recharger platform so when they die they aren't dead in the water, maybe quite literally!

One of you said the electric planes are using DC electric motors. Is this true? The modern electric cars use AC electric motors.

@29:00: There are pathways in the sky today!!!! Commercial AC cannot just wander anywhere they please and are actually tracked and directed along these pathways. I am sure the 737 pilot knows - just slipped his mind I am sure.

757 actually, and those aircraft are separated by miles laterally and at least a 1,000' vertically. What I meant was with the type of traffic density like you see on a city street (or in a Star Wars movie).
