Such a helpful video, have been putting off fixing my non-functional tools which amassed to a critical level. Thanks to the advice given I have managed to fix 1 x benchgrinder, "the bloody bandsaw", F%&*ng compressor that had to die mid way through spray job and some smaller tools, some of which I had replaced because I was too stupid to watch this first. All came down to junction issues or other stuff wired in series, very cheap fix. Thankyou so much for this wonderful video!

I haven't tried fixing tools , but are you referring to junctions inside a tool ? I live in Mexico , and people here are very clever at recoiling copper and fixing tools but ive never tried , but it definitely interests me . Id like to learn , that is why I ask . Cheers !

Amazed how excited so Many people excited to tell them to check power at the motor, none, so see if Power coming out of the Breaker, have power, check connections in between. Most Basic, yet so many Very Excited. I guess I was looking for something More. Can't knock it, as it Many found this Extremely, Extremely Helpful?

Should probably mention to check for a disconnect if trouble shooting a motor. Especially if it’s a fused disconnect. A blown fuse could be the issue and a quick fix. Supposed to be within 6 feet of the motor anyways so it’s a quick fix.

OK.. so, I have a heat press for making shirts and other stuff.. we rent a house and the only place where the breaker wont trip when using the heat press is by the washer and dryer. I need to use that heat press in the garage.. there is no power there.. I ran a line from a random socket but I am not gonna use it for heat press because it will trip, so I bought a 5000 watts inverter.. I can connect that to my car battery with thick cables and it will work fine running that heat press... I was thinking ... I would have to have my car running during the use of that heat press through the inverter so it doesnt drain my car battery...my question is ... is there a way to create a 12 volt DC power from a house outlet , then connect it to the inverter so I can get enough power to run the heat press without causing any issues?? I have been searching and found out that a car battery produces DC current and a house has AC current.. I would appreciate it if anyone has an answer for this.

I am not a seasoned electrician . Im learning as I go , I was able to understand this video with a quick google search of the names he referred the breaker with, (line side ) ( load side ) . Anyway , I have a problem with my centrifugal pump; it seems like its not getting enough power to start so I am going to try and isolate some parts of the circuit tomorrow.

I'm trying to understand. Why would power at the motor indicate the motor is bad? Wouldn't that indicate that the power has gone through the breaker, terminal block, and then to the motor with no problem so that it can run?
@RSPSupply
@RSPSupply 4 ай бұрын
In the context of electrical troubleshooting, the presence of power at the motor doesn't necessarily indicate that the motor itself is bad. You're correct that if power is reaching the motor, it suggests that the electrical path from the breaker to the motor is intact and that there are no issues with the terminal block or wiring. However, when diagnosing motor problems, technicians often use the presence of power at the motor as just one piece of information in a broader assessment. If power is reaching the motor but the motor is not functioning as expected (e.g., not running, running erratically, making unusual noises), it could indicate that there's an issue with the motor itself. This could include problems such as a burned-out motor winding, a faulty capacitor (if applicable), damaged bearings, or other internal faults. In summary, while the presence of power at the motor is an important data point, it doesn't necessarily provide a complete picture of the motor's condition. Technicians typically use a combination of observations, tests, and diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot motor problems accurately.

Hi there! I got some problem on my electric main box, one side of my workshop it's working pretty good .. but the other side I have no working outlets. I just check those breakers and looks like every single one has electricity, but if I go ahead and check every outlet, that specific side doesn't have electricity. What I can do?
@truthbebold4009
@truthbebold4009 3 жыл бұрын
Is there a GFI outlet that night have been tripped? If not, you can check the first outlet in the circuit closest to the panel and see inside if there is anything wrong. Turn off the breaker so you can take the outlet out and inspect the wiring.

If motor is connected to a load and keeps tripping, try uncoupling the motor and then go for a start. If it runs the load could be ausing overcurrent fault, to be double sure Megohm the motor and make sure it fals within spec. If one fuse is just blowing on a three phase that’s a single phase issue that can be caused by a bad motor. Lotta variables going on

If there is No power at the motor It Is Not Safe to Assume that the Motor is working properly. Motor problems IE bearings, shorts, etc can trip the overloads and or breaker which would kill power to motor. Not a good video! What makes breaker trip....The Motor! Very seldom if at all have I found bad wiring to motor from breaker.
