But at the same time, because I have Autism and I get angered easily, I saw that as a potential attack on disability support in general because it almost gave me the impression that people who support the disabled are evil people, which is extremely incorrect! We're in all actuality regular people who need help from time to time. I don't know exactly how this works, but I say you should be extremely cautious when you use that terminology and where.

That's Ren Seeks Help from APC and not the original series. It was aired on Spike, so it never gained as much attention as Man's Best Friend, leaving less controversy. APC is universally horrible unlike the beloved original, so there's no need to argue about it in the first place.

Katie Lewis Well, in Zootopia, that was kind of the point. It was an allegory to show how harmful racism can be. As for the others, Dumbo had the crows, which were a representation of black stereotypes (though, I don't think they're as harmful as some other depictions at the time. *coughcoughallthisandrabbitstewcough*), Animal Farm, I think, depicts a metaphor for communism, and The Lion King, I don't really know what so controversial about it, but you know, never underestimate the internet's ability to FIND something.

I don't think Dumbo gives Animat enough to talk about, at least in terms of racism. But if there was enough of a reaction to the Pink Elephants scene, maybe. The Lion King doesn't seem all that offensive, but maybe some behind the scenes stuff might be controversial. I'm not sure. Zootopia is controversial for sure, what with its political messages, but it's that sort of bold commentary that I love it for. That and the bond between Judy and Nick. And Animal Farm I love as well, and it's possible that it's controversial on account of its red scare propaganda.

+Merete Nora Well, I can't speak for the rest of the world but in the US there's been a HUMONGOUS debate on the topic and it's always "killing babies" vs "woman's freedom" and there's hardly anyone looking at it from any other angle. People have taken it so far that abortionists have found bombs in their mailboxes. So for all I know (haven't seen the episode) the episode's only problem could be the fact abortion is mentioned at all.

As far as I'm concerned, that scene wasn't even gruesome OR realistic. I mean, there was an episode where Ren described in great detail all the awful things he was gonna do to Stimpy like he was a fucking madman, and THIS is what gets people offended?

***** Well, it was only one moment that can be cut easily, but in Man's Best Friend, if the beat up scene was cut, people will be confused on what happens next. So they cut the whole episode from TV, left it unaired, and fired John K. I just wish Nick didn't fire John K. because someone told me that animaniacs was way more violent than Ren and Stimpy and yet Animaniacs was able to get away with anything while Ren and Stimpy was caught under fire. So, yeah. I don't think Man's Best Friend is worthy of being unaired because there are other shows that are more violent than Ren and Stimpy, like Animaniacs.
