If you add any sealant additives like slime or Armordilloz to your tire follow these steps to maintain proper pressure: Each time after adding or removing air , put a drop of water or a dab of saliva/spit in the valve to look for air bubbles? If none you are all set. If you see air bubbles simply press the valve to release slight air and recheck it. No need for new valves.

Run flat tyres for EUC's in the future perhaps.....Might be really hard to install though. Mountains with snow skiing in the winter, might be open for mountain bike riders to use in the off season summer time. The ski runs make for excellent down hill mtb rides. S18 should handle the return up hill climb easily. Very nice colour customization, look forward to next vid, thanks.

Hey Marty, thanks for the great video. Did you know that some shock pumps have a tire fitting with a small lever that opens/closes the valve stem. That way you don't lose any pressure when you remove the pump. I got one and replaced the gauge to a 60psi one so I can use it to set tire pressure.

Great choice...the one difference i see to mine is a different tire! (and the red back of course, looks cool!) And yeah, exactly, the small tapes are just meant for transportation....not as “pedal part”. Perhaps a small tip: The stickers you peel off...just put them on the box. They might be usefull later when ever some kind of problems occur with the board, so that the serialnumber is known...

Looks like your motor cable there where it bends is also more optimised. Yours has shielding over and mine has the spring covering. At 9:40 in the video, those little screws is the only upgrade I have done. I have changed them to hex stainless ones as the ones they had on mine was very soft. Would be interesting to know if yours in trolley mode also dont balance.

I personnaly would move the click wheel on top of the shock to the very far - open - end, as it is much, much more agile then. When having it in the middle, the shock is a bit to slow when having multiple bumps. It doesnt get extended fast enough... Just my 2 cents ;-) For the speed lock: I guess that even experienced riders can live with the 32kmh speed lock for 10km/6 miles, as its just about 15-20minutes ride. Do you remember the old times? we had 200km or 500km long locks at 40kmh on some KS....THAT was really stupid :-)
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I remember those old times where we had to use the key generator to get around the long locks. I've experimented with the click wheel and to be honest couldn't notice much difference so I leave it in the middle.

Are there any worries about the pedal inserts coming off with double sided tape? Could be an ugly accident in poor weather.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 3 жыл бұрын
I would say zero changes. These pedals were first used on a loaner S18 for a few hundred miles. It took A LOT of effort to remove the pedal inserts from the old wheel to install on my new wheel. I'm using industrial strength indoor/outdoor double-sided take. I'm not worried about it in any way. Even if over time there started getting a little loose, trust me, they wouldn't all of a sudden "pop" off :-)

Congratulations Marty! The first thing I did after seeing this video was I ran into my garage to see if I had those little pads on the grip tape, lol. I didn't, and I feel jipped! I like that red paint on the fender. Is it reflective? Are you going to put any type of reflector on it? I know there's a brake light, but it came with a reflector on the fender. Finally, I heard that if you remove the stickers from the bottom of the pedals the government can impound the wheel, similar to cutting that label from a new pillow, LOL

Hey Marty, the chart in the shock's manual assumes you're mounting it on a mountain bike, and doesn't take into account the weight of the S18. I think it'll be too soft. I'm about 150lbs, and I've set my ratio to 250/150 for a balanced ride, not particularly fantastic at any one terrain, but capable of handling whatever my rural Norcal roads throw at us.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 3 жыл бұрын
I did ride a previous S18 for a few hundred miles. For me, I prefer the softer ride for my knees. Recommendations are all over the place although I think you're riding with the highest pressure that I've ever heard of. I'll probably experiment with higher pressures but I really do like the soft ride. I'm not jumping off any walls ;-)
@brocmt
@brocmt 3 жыл бұрын
@@ElectricUnicycles It's the same pressure that Douglas at RevRides uses on his S18, and he said he's the same weight as me. This chart was pulled from another video, and RevRides confirmed it's legit. imgur.com/GlFBFtc I think you'll have a better feel for what the rebound dial does if you crank up that lower chamber a bit.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 3 жыл бұрын
@@brocmt Thanks for that chart. Very interesting. Those are huge numbers compared to what I'm used to. I'll give it a try but it's hard to believe the suspension won't be very stiff compared to what I'm used to. But I'll experiment.

Gripe tape is just for show? Kingsong expects you to change it or the footplates. Then why bother sticking it on the pedals?🤔 Most pads are included in the box. So I need a specific tool to remove the pin from the valve to add Slime. Your knees will thank you for using the S18. Damn it... I also want the S18. But I am waiting for my Sherman to arrive.

I bought the best wheel (at the time) that was available and learned on that. But I was committed and knew I'd love it. If you have doubts then sure, get a cheap wheel to try and go from there. I would look for a used wheel. The community is so large now, you should have little difficulty in finding used wheels for less than a couple hundred dollars.

Hey @marty did you have any issues adding air to the suspension? Above 150 (positive chamber -top), it was extremely difficult to get air into the shock. Not sure if it’s a faulty pump or something else or I’m doing something wrong. Was aiming for 220/80 but not able to get to those number. The strength needed doesn’t seem reasonable, and I don’t want to break anything.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 3 жыл бұрын
Just tonight I increased the pressure from ~150 to ~200. It was only a little more difficult. I did it a few times (I was testing how much air I lost when disconnecting the pump). On one of the attempts I noticed it was much harder, but when I fiddled with the connection (unscrew and screw) it got a lot better. So I suspect if your pump isn't solidly connected (threaded all the way on) there is more resistance when pumping. That's all I got
