Want to add switched/fused circuits to your bike to power a GPS, Personal Locator Beacon, charge your phone/batteries/cameras? You need a power distribution module. In this episode I install one from Rowe Electronics, but there are many alternatives. Eastern Beaver, Denali Power Hub, MotoMate, Heal Tech. They all basically do the same thing: allow you to safely add electrical circuits to your bike that power the things we can't live without.

I really like how you did this, great job! I’ve been looking at the PDM60 but didn’t know where it would fit. Does it get in the way of that plastic usb phone tray on top? Btw, which size is your Olympus tank bag?

Thanks! I pulled out the plastic phone charging tray. I found it to be a complete waste of space. I rerouted the USB socket from the phone tray to feed the quadlock charger on the handlebars. The tank bag is the large size.

What are the 2 black side sacks that you use on the bike attached to the frame? what brand? I would like to get them, thanks.

Nice video. Side note: I am getting the Rox risers also. Did you have to install a longer cable on either side?

Thanks! The clutch cable is just barely tight. In a perfect world it’s have a little more slack. But I’ve put about 6k miles on it with no issues.

Great vid. This is my next bike..and i'll be doing the same with my GPS, GoPro, etc etc. Did you get the "bluetooth" model...if so what exactly does that give ya? Can't wait to get mine!!!! Enjoy bro!

I didn't know they had one that supported bluetooth. I would have preferred that. But realistically, I don't change my setup often enough to warrant the additional cost. I just have to make sure I don't misplace the programming cable.

Hello Kurt. I see you are a fan of Garmin. I see that GPS mount for above the TFT. Can you do a video of its mounting and stability of vibration on that mod. I'm looking at the Garmin 800

I love this Evotech mount! Installation is pretty straightforward, if a bit fiddly. You remove the windscreen and it slips behind some of the boots that holds the display. It’s rock solid. I don’t have any vibration with my Zumo XT, and it puts it in exactly the right spot. It comes with a new crossbar that replaces the OEM bar. It has a bit of a curve in it, to give the mount a little space. With the gps mounted you can’t adjust the screen with one hand, but the new bar has tabs on the outside you use to move the screen. I wish I had filmed the install. Cheers.

Bought it works great...once I opened the right com port on the software ( com 6 for me ) I was able to program. I really like the 7 second delay giving the starter on the bike full power to crank before power is distributed to your accessories. This should be a factory component not sure why Motorcycle companies have not figured this out yet? Since I have panniers I just installed mine where the Tiger tool kit goes and moved my tool kit to my boxes. Btw...if you have a GOPRO you can plug in directly a USB charging cable and run a power pack and it will run off your power pack directly....GOPRO batteries suck. I stopped buying them and just run on video mode LOOP with a cable of course you have to keep a GOPRO battery installed in order to do this. It just constantly charges but your camera will run while in charging mode. I get hours and hours of power.

Can I ask a dumb question? How did you "tap" in to the plug? I really don't want to splice any cables. That was a very clean! Great video!

Positap connector. a.co/d/5F6tQ56. This lets you tap into a wire without cutting it.

I’m totally digging the Quadlock vibration mount for my phone, and the Evotech Performance mount for my Garmin gps. I’ve done about 7K miles with my phone in that mount and zero failures. If the terrain gets super dicey I’ll put my phone in my tank bay, just in case. But normal washboard, gravel roads, no problem.
