The Triumph service manual I have indicates that, “4. With the motorcycle on level ground, and on the side stand, allow the oil to completely drain.” Not sure how much difference that makes but you had yours on the center stand.

I’m sure it’s negligible, but I also change my oil more frequently due to the amount of off-road riding I do.

So no more Dunlop Trailmax Missions? Why did you decide to go with a diff tire? Off road grip not good enough?
@BlueADV214
@BlueADV214 2 жыл бұрын
I wanted to try something a little knobbier for my desert trip where I was going to be in a lot of sand and gravel. Honestly, after a few hundred miles on these, I might switch back to the Trailmax Missions. They are such a good all around tire… I had 9,500ish miles on them when I swapped and they actually still had a good amount of life left in them.

Well done, A ot of good info.... I too use the Hiflow filters on my KLR the past 23,000 miles so I trust them.... I also tourq the drain plug ... By Chance have you used a Magnetic drain plug?? Given the Tiger uses a Hex drain plug I will probably replace it with a Magnetic 10mm or what ever fits the bike... I always install those to collect any internal STEEL ware of parts.... Im not yet a Tiger owner but Hope to be this spring.... One last Question, I will be on the pavement mostly with the bike Dirt Roads would be all the Dirt the bike will ever see.. Have you noticed any vibration at around 70-75 mph on yours ? some say yes some say a little some say no.... Comming off a ONE lungger I would expect it to be like butter haahahaha but just curious... Like I said I will be test riding one in the Spring... Thanks again..

Why is it need a safty wire on a oil filter? i have never seen this is nessesary on other oilfilter in any bike i know !
@BlueADV214
@BlueADV214 2 жыл бұрын
I know most people don’t safety wire the filter, but I have had filters work their way loose more than once (not on this bike) and so I like the added security it provides. The only thing holding it on is the o-ring… better to have and not need than need and not have.
@bobpickersgill4470

Road race tech inspection requirements made these appear decades ago on the K&N as a convenience. But I've never seen a spin on filter loosen on it's own so i don't bother on the street bikes.

I know there are idiots out there, I guess thats why you tended to over complicate and explain a simple oil change. I've always said, You can train a chimp to change oil, but for those who cant figure out such a simple procedure, it's a good video. And next time you drain the oil, put aluminum foil draped over your pipes so they won't get oil on them.
@BlueADV214
@BlueADV214 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the criticism I suppose. Someone specifically asked for that video; probably because they have never done it before. If they were able to use this video to not only do a simple procedure, but also built a little bit of knowledge and skill, I'm content. Of course, if you find the video boring or "over complicated", you are welcome to move on to somewhere else.

@@BlueADV214 I just can get around the fact of a “male” not knowing how to do an oil change. I mean, I realize there are some Beta male Schmucks out there, but a simple oil change is not only common sense, but it’s something every “Male” that own a motorcycle needs to know how to do.
