The Electro-Harmonix Nano Battalion bass preamp & overdrive pedal features a three-band EQ with three EQ position modes for maximum flexibility and sound shaping control. The three-band EQ includes Treble (boost/cut above 1kHz) and Bass (boost/cut below 200Hz) controls, plus a Mid switch which provides a 9dB boost or cut at 500Hz. Three signal path options determine where the EQ is applied. In Distortion Mode the EQ comes after the distorted signal and has a powerful effect on its timbre while the clean signal is not affected. In Input Mode the EQ comes first in the signal path affecting both the clean and distorted signals. Boosting frequencies in this mode can drive the distortion to a more saturated state. In Dry Mode the EQ affects the clean signal, but not the distorted signal.
The Nano Battalion includes a ¼" input jack and ¼" output jack. When a normal TS cable is connected to the output jack it delivers an unbalanced signal. When a TRS cable is plugged into this jack, it outputs a balanced signal that can go directly into a mixing console or recording interface.

This is one of the best bass distortion overdrive pedals I have ever heard, most distortion pedal sound nasally or thin. This keeps the bass but adds just the right bite or dirt. Love it. Thanks for the demo!

I just got mine today and I love it! I have to say that Manny did a great job. That's how a pedal demo should be. The last thing I needed was another dirt box, but the demo played no small part in my decision to pull the trigger.

Cool. I've had a lot of success with my Battalion Preamp and this seems a good refinement. On its own the drive seems quite prickly, but it really works in a live mix.

Awesome demo of the pedal. 😎🤘🏻🎸this overdrive pedal sounds pretty cool. It sounds like you can get a crayon overdrive sound at a certain setting. Other than that, pretty cool pedal. I’m thinking about getting one.

bought it because of the OD. it sounds really good with my JB. but I actually love the tone of it when I use it as an EQ, with the blend rolled towards all clean. some serious tone!

has anyone ever used this with an upright bass? i guess with blend all the way down and dry eq mode you could shape a nice clean sound too?

I really had my sights set on the Soul Food bass, but after hearing this demo, the Batallion seems to hold the bottom end much better to my ear. This pedal seems more flexible to me, any thoughts out there on this ? thx

The Muff is for brutal Fuzz/Distortion tones. Battalion is for a preamp and overdriven sounds. Much cleaner.

Have in mind that the Battalion is also a preamp. This means it can offer you a balanced output, useful if you want to record through an interface or send your signal into a mixer, without using an amp, for example.
