This video is from Leirvogsá Iceland, the same river as in part 1, but at a site above an unpassable waterfall. Growth is very good because density is optimal. Here females and males were transferred from the lower area and the spawning density was 2-3 females/ kilometer. This resulted in far better growth than in the lower region, low mortality and high production. This experiment was conducted in order to show how optimal density increased production, contrary to the philosophy of catch and release as a method to increase salmon runs
