Honestly think Ele is just about perfect right now, love playing it. There’s always something to do whether it’s cc, purge, healing, etc, but dmg is easy to put out. And it’s tuned about right too. Strong, but not OP. Melee can rip you if they get sustained pressure, but you don’t instantly melt either and you have options to avoid dmg. It’s really a lot of fun right now. Please Blizzard, keep the essence of this playstyle intact going forward.

VS melee-cleaves Ele is just not fun to play. This video proves that it's not fun. No idea where any of this, like the title, is coming from.

@@MrZeuz666 in my case, it’s coming from a former afflock main. Dealing w/ melee as an ele is easy mode compared to dealing w/ them on my lock. 3 roots, 2 knocks, a slow, travel form, pseudo blink, stun, incap, wall, burrow, 2 passive and 1 active self heals, and chain vs cloth. Plus, I’m not virtually guaranteed to be the target every round. If you have a better caster in mind for dealing with melee, I’m all ears. But I really do like my ele shaman.

@@MrZeuz666 look at aff lock specifically. Not destro, not demo. Show me when, at any point in the last 5 years, that aff wasn’t near the very bottom in participation.

@@repkechr I played Aff in SL. Best spec in RBGs and could make it work in 2v2. But I wasn’t talking about participation, what’s the best for the best or anything like that before you brought it up. All casters are three times as hectic and hard as melee. I wrote my own comment elaborating on my opinion. But under here I just wrote it’s not fun. Goes for most casters, with warlock being the best class overall for a large portion of time. Whether Aff or another spec or what not. It’s a strong class. You just went ranting about what Ele has, some of which I don’t understand, most of which doesn’t matter in your average melee filled lobby.

Ele is so fun right now. Only been able to climb to 2k. I think i am focusing too much on utility and not putting out enough pressure. Skyfury makes a big difference but i typically run burrow,grounding,unleash. Why not run static field vs melee?

You cannot move to a location that is out of los of the original totem and you cannot move players trapped in it for more than 20 yards.

U make it look easy im around 1800 (not the best but competitive at low mmr) on arms and destro but i cant live for 5 seconds on ele. Constantly trained to death...

if you're min-maxing dmg, dwarf is actually the best race imo. lava burst always crits so the 2% buff to crit dmg adds up really quickly on ele.

@@jbuttasmoothtv7215 yes. That’s what makes regular dwarf so good for ele sham. I think tauren get the same crit dmg increase but their aoe stun isn’t as useful for ele

@@MarijuanaFireFighterI didn’t know Tuaren got the same 2% crit dmg buff! My shaman is a Tuaren! Haven’t played my shaman since bfa though and haven’t played dragonflight in over a year.. been really thinking about coming back though

@@IsaacFNghost correct, so they get that boon to dmg as well. the only problem with tauren is their aoe 2 second stun isn't as useful for casters compared to dwarf racial

There are ele bots pumping ridiculous damage. The advantage they have is they can detect lava surge procs and get off back to back surges when a human usually queus up an earth shock after an instant lavaburst to proc another one. Oh and I imagine their flame shock uptime on multiple targets is near perfect too

@@senko888 The bots disappeared in S3 from my experience. Blizzard banned a shitload of players. Edit: At least all the Eles on S2. The new bots were DH.

This video proves Elemental Shaman is not fun at all. It doesn't own. It Can win - but so can any spec right now. Someone like Supatease who knows everything and speaks really fast can't keep up with how hectic it is vs melee-cleaves, almost dying all the time. Any misplay with a gust, a root, burrow and you're just dead. And this is with good healers at high rating. Casters are generally just torture in this game compared to melee. First time I ever tried warrior - Arms, but I never played any other spec before - in any content whatsoever (used lvl 70 preorder-boost), I jumped into shuffle and went 6-0. Next game I had 2k mmr and was a terrible lobby for a warrior and went 3-3. Melee is cakewalk. It's another game entirely. Like P2W but without paying.

melee that much easier to play with in ss? been playing ele lately (started wow two months ago) and its a lot of fun! I just cant break 1550 lol. melee filled lobbies is just insane!

Yep. In S2 you had massive damage and depending on the patch/period massive passive healing, and as long as you kept up that damage and healing you could win in a not too stressful manner. In S3 you have to try harder to keep up not even as high damage as S2, while needing to be stressed about defensives and utility way more. Requires A LOT more to succeed.

This is the only Elemental Sham that gets to actually do arena because of their notoriety. Everyone else is a literal nobody that can't arena even if they wanted to.
