I took an online course and received my diploma in floral design. I did this bc I wanted to work with flowers for the joy of it. I find it to be incredibly relaxing. I believe in the days gone by....floral arrangement was de reguer for many young ladies. I so love watching these videos and am still learning! Many thanks for posting these tutorials. God bless.

Don't throw away any trimmings until the very last minute! The horsetail could be cut short and used like a fence, rose foliage is great as a different greens, and the strips of the tti leaves can be curled !!

Those are excellent suggestions, Janet! It's so true that you can use those bits and pieces in any of your designs and you may need to do so if you need some additional materials to cover those mechanics. Thank you for sharing your insight and wisdom with us and for watching our shows as well. The Tulips really appreciate your guidance, tips, and techniques as they prepare for the AIFD test. Wishing you a marvelous week in every way and hope all is well in your corner of the world!

That's an excellent question, Albania! If you asked about the lobby floral design, she used kangaroo paws for the tall elements in the arrangement, and then added yellow craspedia (billy balls) as well. At the base of the design, she added equisetum (which looks like bamboo) in addition to the roses and hypericum berries. We hope this helps and answers your question. Thank you very much for spending some time with us and we look forward to hosting you again soon. Wishing you a peaceful weekend and please take care!

That's an excellent question, Brenda! Actually at AIFD testing, candidates must complete five designs in four hours. Their website explains the scoring and what minimum scores must be both cumulatively across all five designs and individually for each design. You can find that information here under scoring: aifd.org/membership/becoming-aifd/ It was lovely to see you again for Flower School Live and we hope you are doing well these days. Wishing you a joyous week and sending you best wishes too!
