Usually I don't like watching these types pf videos for school but your proper explanations and examples made this video both educational and interesting so I applaud you for making a nice detailed video that is enjoyable than wasting your time making something no one wants to watch and wasting our time not wanting to watch it

Thank you for asking this valuable question. The Elements and Principles of Design give us vocabulary for looking at artwork created by others. So, when we look at good design created by others we can recognize specific elements and principles of design and how they were used. We can then be inspired to do the same. For example, I might like the way an artist has used thick black outlines (lines and colours are elements) to make an object stand out (emphasis is a principle). So, I could try the same technique in my own artwork. Start by looking at artwork created by others. Identify the elements and principles of design that inspire you and then try it in your own artwork. I hope this helps, Camille G.

Hello Ruzel, Thank you for your valuable question. The elements and principles of design give us a language in which we can formulate and communicate our ideas about art. For example, you might look at a work of art and tell me that you like it. Rather than just saying that “it is nice” (a very common remark) you might say that the COLOURS (an element of design) create a calm feeling and that the VARIETY (a principle of design) makes it interesting. The elements and principles of design equip us to think analytically about artwork. In your own artwork you might then use similar COLOURS and VARIETY to create a similar feeling. Likewise, other artists might look at your artwork and be inspired by your clever analytical thinking. I hope this helps.
