Yes, the keepers are so good to them. I wish that I could go and work there as a volunteer. I was a nanny for many years and know how to care and give love to babies.

This video is so heartwarming ❤ and the LOVE to each orphan elephant is felt 🥰 The keepers are so involved with all of the baby elephants and knows when one of the babies needs extra love 💕 I was amazed how the keepers transported the 2yr olds elephants to a bigger orphanage with other elephants waiting to greet them! All of the keepers are special men and the love you showed the baby elephants brought tears to my eyes! God bless you all 🙏🏼🥰♥️

That’s dumb. Stop infantilizing animals. They are living beings with similar brains to ours. They know anger, hatred, fear, all negative emotions. Some animals, like whales, may even be capable of more emotions than us thanks to structures in their brains we don’t understand yet.

Please, if you were impressed with Sheldrick’s Wildlife Trust, don’t just say thank you! They need $$ to care for these precious babies. Just the milk they supply for years for each orphan is exorbitant. Not to mention paying for all the other necessary supplies and expenses! If only $5 or so, everything helps!

Shukuru died in 2021. For 12 years, she lived with the mysterious health issues that the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust could not cure. RIP Shukuru.

I hope the mother was helped in some way, even if it was to euthanise her. It would be unbearable for her to see her calf being taken away, and she in pain, weakened, and unable to do anything about it. R.I.P. mama. I hope she can now see that her baby is being well looked after.

It is possible to fix the broken leg of an elephant. There’s a rescue calledH.E.R.D in an African country that does so. Hopefully these rescues, because they are all working towards the same goal, can join forces and help each other’s resources

Angels the carers are in this cruel world. Sadly it was the lesser of the horrible options of what they were faced with. So they take baby away from mamma while she still alive than either leaving with her till she dies or putting her to sleep in front of the baby so she doesn't see that. For anyone that isnt evil that would be heartbreaking task

You can adopt an orphan there. We have 5 orphans adopted right now. Sheldrick’s provides updates daily on your individual elephant! Adopting costs $50/year so that’s not bad! Check out all the other things that they do besides just raising orphans too!! They are truly amazing!

But what impresses me ALWAYS and still doe and always will, no Elephant hooks, no shouting, no beating. And the keepers move amongst those adults with no fear. And these huge pachyderms DO know what strength they have.

@@cameronhowe1110 Correct, and the Botswana elephant population is thriving, unlike groups in other places. The extent of poaching in this video leads many people to believe that all elephant populations are dwindling, which is not true. However, all of them face various threats, but conservation efforts and tactics will differ across the populations groups. Thriving populations can be a threat to other species, including the landscape since they cut down lots of trees which can take years to grow in the savanna, raid farms leading to food losses for people etc.

The greeting the three elephants receive is so heartwarming and special I love the elephants. Can the horns be removed to prevent poaching? I assume that they are necessary. However the thought of them being killed is heartbreaking ❤❤❤

It is heartbreaking to learn that the majority of so many baby elephants lose their moms mostly to poaching (shame on those involved in this). Thankfully because of the love & dedication of all the keepers, along with the other little orphans, they somehow get through their traumas and carry on! Real champs! Cannot express how disgusted I feel toward poachers and how saddened I feel how much Africa has suffered from exploitation to civil wars,etc etc and that it extends into their beautiful wildlife. Shame on humanity!

Poachers take such risks because of the money involved. Tusks, animal skins, and other parts pay well for someone who has no other resources.

What a magnificent & heart-warming film!!! It is a tragedy that many baby elephants wind up as orphans, but through the efforts of the Sheldrake Wildlife Trust & of course the tenderness & compassion of the orphanage keepers, the baby elephants are given a second chance to have the lives they deserve. The workers in Africa seem to know that being a great humanitarian extends not only to other humans but to animals as well.

I Thank God for all you rescuers, may the Lord bless all of you and the animals. I hope they didn't leave mama elephant there to die, starving to death or animal attacks. She was freaking out when her baby was taken. Wow they love playing ball!! Almost a Stamped lol. Keepers are excellent mamas!! I pray God stops poachers, canned hunters, and all killers in their tracks.

For some reason, it truly warms my heart that the majority of the keepers are men. Most of these men have families outside of the foundation too, but it allows them to make a good wage, support their families, nd have pride for doing all the above. I also love seeing the men in maternal roles.

I love the elephants and watching them! But what amazes me most is that there are so many orphans. The services provided by this organization is sadly a great necessity.
