I saw a main disconnect that was added at a later time (3rd car) . For whatever reason, the main disconnect that was installed was the same style as the other two cars' 110V disconnects. It should make you look twice for sure. That is a great mention. The boxes should always be clearly labeled anyway and verified by, inspector, elevator mechanic, the building's personnel, and third party contractor (electricians). But I did see this for the first time a few months ago and it deserves a mention, especially if the boxes are not labeled or labeled improperly.

I shut off the power supply and then couldn't get it turned back on.... please cover this problem... is there a safety latch? I pushed as hard as I could and couldn't get it back on.... so then the elevator repair people complained that I had tampered with their equipment and charged even more than usual because I turned the power to do a reset as described above. Couldn't get the power box turned back on.... Help ?
