Why aren’t the renovated stations on the Flushing Line getting elevators!? I thought it’s required by law in such renovations?
@anonymous3738Ай бұрын
Not all stations have to be accessible via elevators. They can also use ramps, such as the ones at 42nd St-PABT.
@Leonard_WilsonАй бұрын
That ramp is narrow. It meets the legal requirement for accessibility. However, a motorized wheelchair would have problems getting up and down that ramp.

"over 300 on the system" By the gods, that's like nothing for a system that big.
@TheBronxFannerАй бұрын
There are 472 subway stations in NYC. Over 300+, with multiple elevators at some stations? I'd say it's far from "nothing"..
@GustavSvardАй бұрын
@@TheBronxFanner That's still a large majority of stations not having any. Not really the MTA's fault, rather the blame lies at the feet of those who funneled infrastructure funding to cars for decades and decades.

Try maintenance
@vipershot8336Ай бұрын
Ok but when you leave the elevator, 3/4 of the time theres no space to leave it on the platform. Also i love being greeted by the smell of urine after entering the station!!! Lovely for the price of ONLY $2.90. an unforgettable NYC experience

I get the MTA trying to educate the public on the effort that goes into maintaining the system, but things like these are a no brainer, and should in no way compromise the ride quality of passengers. What next? Are you going to post a videoon how the MTA has to pay the electric bill and what a struggle it is, hence passengers might have to walk instead?

I can take an elevator to the 30th floor of a hotel faster than an MTA elevator goes down to the platform

"takes around 6 to 9 months" yet it took you three years to install the lorimer-metropolitan elevators
@aqua2poweros699Ай бұрын
6 to 9 months to REPLACE an elevator. Not to install one.
