I only recently started playing Elex and i regret not doing it earlier. It has quickly become one of my favorite RPGs.

@@mdo I was tempted to get the first one but they say it’s a slow start and your super weak and can die easily in the beginning.

@@JMrealgamer it is, but that's the appeal of the game. I took a trek across the map at low level and it was the most exciting and terrifying thing I did in a game. Even a sick rat could take me out in two hits so it was a matter of observing, sneaking and running. But that's because the game has no level scaling. As you get stronger the enemies stay the same so you can come back and try to eliminate them. It doesn't mean it's easier, as even fully equipped you will go down in several hits from very strong enemies. This is great because it means combat is never a matter of barging in and mashing attack + dodge. You can always take on enemies much stronger than you by luring them close to NPCs or other enemies and letting them duke it out, or find ways to stun-lock them like using EMPs on very powerful robots. It's unforgiving but never felt unfair.

@@mdo in most RPG’s there is automatically no level scaling and it’s much more fun. The first one isn’t for me but I’ve pre ordered the 2nd one so I hope it’s not as challenging. Some of us just want to have some fun. Lol!

They had a closed beta and while there was some jank it looks and plays better than the first one. Plenty of gameplay videos around.
