My personal favourite hunting subsonic 22 is the cci segmented subs, probably a bit much for a rabbit but i found them to be very accurate and reliably put an animal down instantly even if my aim is slightly off.

I would like to see you try the eley match, I have thought about these as the usual eley subs seem to differ a lot from round to round. Whereas the eley match are supposed to be more consistent, so should provide a better grouping. Anyway I look forward to seeing your results as it may persuade me to pay the extra for the match rounds. Thanks again for a great and informative video

I recently started using Eley Contact in my old Sako 94s Varmint (17" barrel), they produced an exceptional 0.41 MOA 5 shot group @ 50 metres. Whilst I have not been able duplicate that group size I have still shot some groups that are very close to 0.5 MOA

I use Eley Match for my comps, excellent through my CZ455. Eley Edge are good also, but have tried Eley Tenex but not very good especially for the money. They are more for the match rifles but also it could be your rifle that ammo fussy. I prefer Eley ammo over any other as i can find a round that works for any of my rifles. Look forward to more testing

I have chronographed these rounds through my sako 14” barrel and they come out at 1070fps so I don’t think the velocity is too exaggerated. Might be worth giving Lapua centre x a go
@srspower
@srspower 4 жыл бұрын
they are advertised 1090fps so I would guess that's from a 16" barrel so your test seems reasonable, if anything that shows they are a little spicier than advertised. But none the less I saw an extreme depreciation with accuracy from 50 - 100 yards.

The Jard trigger can decrease accuracy a bit due to not making good contact on the back of the action. The stock trigger pack provides a nice large area to contact the stock and the Jard definitely does not. A couple Jard owners have noticed this

Hey bud i have tbolt aswell. Try sk long range match. I use shim between end of stock and barrel to put upword pressure on barrel. It has closed groups aswell. If you only have say x7 scope your groups at 100yards will be shit house. You just cannot see good enough. Also try a limbsaver barrel tuner. Next step. Try stinger ammo and limbsaver barrel tunner!

What i used to do when i bought a new rifle was take a box of everything the shop stocked and tried it. Its the only way really, rifles, especially .22 rifles can be so fussy about what they like. CCI standard is one both my rifle and revolver really like, should be ok through a mod too.

You'd think eley would knock out some premium stuff. I try different ammo and if it one holes at 25/30 yards I stick to it. CCI has been my go to recently because it holds a reasonable group out at 100. My rifle is a 10/22 with a trigger pack. CCI partition has done me well at 75 ish too. Good video

I use elegy club in my cz 452, same hole at 25yrds, at 50 it’s half inch groups easily, at 75yrds 1” groups and at 100yrds 1.5” so pretty ,good, a very consistent round to, so the clubs are my go to round and they’re pretty cheap £5 for 50rds

I’ve been watching your videos for a while (they’re great BTW), but your T-Bolt has never struck me as being as accurate as it should be. I’m sure you’re a proficient enough marksman to deserve better. What you may need to consider are High Velocity rounds with that rifle. CCI HP Mini Mags, Highland Hi-Impact, or any other 36grain projectile with a MV of @ 1250fps might show a marked improvement at 100yards. In my experience .22lr caliber rifles either love standard velocity rounds, or they hate them. For instance my CZ452 loves CCI SV but my daughters Norinco JW-15 hates them. However, with 36gn HV rounds her Norinco will easily print sub-MOA groups while my CZ spits them all over the place. Will be interested to see what feedback you get from Eley. Thanks for the video. Please keep them coming.

I haven't tried Eley Contact from 100 yards yet. But I'm not sure whether you adjusted the parallax (got rid of it) before you shot from 100 yards. I didn't know until recently that parallax was a big deal.

Just checked the BC's for Eley and CCI , the Eley's have a higher BC . If they're leaving the muzzle at the same velocity then theoretically the CCI's should have more drop not less . May I suggest you beg , buy or borrow a chrono as the quoted velocities are usually b####ks. 22lr's are notoriously ammo fussy , if you find ammo that works in your rifle buy as much as your licence allows from that batch . Nice real world review 👍👍👍

Eley Tenex is simply graded Eley Match and is horribly expensive. Have you tried RWS Special Match? I find it's better than Eley Match, but of course ammo testing is the key to finding what your barrel really likes.

Medwyn Vermin Strange isn't it, my 455 loves 38grain Eley subs, but hates CCI subs with terrible groups, Eley Sport is also extremely accurate at the fifty yard range but iam frightened of solids for hunting! I would prefer to shoot cheaper ammo but hate missing!

Hi Sam your Browning does not like Eley bullets. Eley, s rimfire ammo is slowly going down hill it's just not what it was. Remmington is the same very poor. It seem Wichester and other premium ammo brands are the way to go. Rimfire, s can be fussy its just matching the best ammo to your rifle. Hope you are going to continue this and keep us updated really interesting. All the best oh and try grouping with mod and with out! Tony

You still need to re zero your rifle in with different brands and weights so try zero it again with them down at the range if your able to with no wind or wait for no wind outside and eley rifle rounds arnt are brilliant anyway they are average really to be honest but shotgun cartridges with eley cant fault them they are spot on for shotgun ammo but probably the best rounds for your rifle would be the winchester subs most 22's love them and good accurate round and good nock down power

CCI green tag is the way to go, mate. but if you really want to find the best round for your rifle, Eley can do that for you. you can pay them £250 and they will find the best 22lr cartridge for your rifle they will even give you the lott number as well. so you order them from your local gunsmith. It's up to you mate but Eley has gone downhill a bit over the last few years so its really your choice.

Excellent groups at 50 but poor at 100 .means that the twist rate of your barrel isnt suitable for long range accuracy .irrespective of the bullet . Obviously some bullets will be better than others but all wont be great . This is usually because the twist rate is too fast over stablizing the bullet (good for up to 50 poor beyond ) a slower twist is usually better for long range
@foxtales4809
@foxtales4809 4 жыл бұрын
You can't "over stabilise " a bullet. It is either stabile or it isn't. The slower a bullet is travelling the faster the twist required to maintain stability. His rifle simply doesn't work well with that particular ammo . .
