I have listened to this album for so many times, now it´s time for me to write something about it. The first flute tune already bewitched me, its like a satyr played it in a faraway woodland... Then the whole epicness arrived with the cry of an unknown creature and the whole orchestral sublime arrived. I still get goosebumps when i listen to this album, especially "The song of ancient wisdom". The Uplands of Doom lay before me, allow me to imagine a darkened world, but with an everlasting wall of emotions, that make me fear about something that lives through this music. It instantly turned me into a battlemage mourning the loss of all fury for battle, gazing upon the body count and loosing the faith in the dark wisdom... This is one of the essentials of Dungeon Synth and a must-hear to every person who wants to lose himself in the music(just like eminem said). Absolute masterpiece of a sublime and mourn at the same time, 12/10! Insane amount of epicness PS: The bells pulled my plug, you can´t end a piece better!

А главенствует здесь Elffor (иногда он проходит под другими никнеймами) - вокалы, все инструменты (с 1995 - по настоящее время), еще играет в других командах: Numen, Surt Ur, ex-Frostfog, ex-Suffering Down, Aura Negativ. А грандмастер он уже давно, потому что другие атмосфер- и паче данжентсинт-творцы ссылаются на него, как на источник непреоборимого вдохновения. Не худший пример, скажем так, подумаем так, а босс лейбла GS PRODUCTIONS как вы знаете, собрал все работы Elffor в один мощный том-книгу - бокс-сет. Вот в нем сабжевый диск - это одиннадцатый серебряный кругляш. Dra Sad III - это кстати Epic/Ambient/Dungeon Synth, настолько уже навороченный и крутой, что уже перерос свои первоисточники. Вырос в нечто глобальное, очень кинематографичное и одновременно самодостаточное и впечатляющее. Только четыре трэка, четыре пьесы, созданные вдохновением мастера, с ореолом настоящего творческого порыва, фэнтезийного или просто прозрением в древнейшие (средневековые) времена. Пасторально-эмоциональный путь с внутренними течениями взволнованной тревожной души, сокровенными точками сборки - это молоточком бьют в колоколец. Жуть собирается вдоль ручьев клавишного перебора, духи любят мокрое... и живое, что тянется на водопой. А там и тьма сбирается, оконтуривая небо тучками мрачных партий атмосферного синтезатора, набирая в костлявые руки полные горсти воды, просыпая ее на не подозревающий ничего люд, теперь уже причащеный мглой, и небеcные ангелы ритм-секции (точно не с большой буквы) пишут в их личных книжках приговор. И просвета практически не видно, да и не будет его, придется спойлерить... просто настоящая музыкальная драма приобретает все более веса и трагедии, особенно когда прорывается инфернальный скрим, да ударная секция вдруг напоминает звук титанических лопат, бросающих сырую землю в яму... А надежда? Пробивается сквозь фиолетовые облака фолковым припевом, но тускнеет с новым порывом ветра. Не зря альбом называется Beneath the Uplands of Doom - Под возвышенностями Рока. К финалу в трэках появляется вокалы, хоры и наррации, усугубляющие меланхолическую атмосферу.
