So I play Xbox and want to try streaming. However, stream can’t hear game chat. Would this work to allow stream to hear those I’m playing with that don’t play Xbox? Also if I do this, do I need a separate mic and if so do I plug it into my pc, cause I only see one jack on the capture card.

@@PovElijah yes please, right now I just have a 4K ultra hd usb3.0 hdmi video capture card. Nothing special but real cheap, like 30$. Right now I have it so that 2 hdmi ports connect to the my Xbox and tv. I also have an Elgato chat link connected to my wired headset. Not only did it not stream game chat, but was also staticy and slightly glitchy. Would the Elgato capture card fix this? Headset was old, have a new wireless one but need and adapter to plug into headset, doesn’t have a jack port.

I have been waiting for your review! I got the HD60x for my PS5/M1 Mac set up and it works great. Glad I don’t need the Game Capture app anymore because it was so bad 😭 the analog audio and HDMI automatically switches on mine without needing to go into the Game Capture app like the HD60+ made me do. It just changes in OBS for me.

Thanks for the review, helps a bunch. I play natively in 4k @ 160hz, but unfortunately I don't think any reasonable priced cards will do that for me, so going to have to downgrade to 4k @ 60hz.

But with the Mk2 you can play in 4k120hz but stream/recording "only" in 4k60hz.

You can change the audio from OBS. You click on the capture, and then settings. Then click audio.

By far the best channel teaching me what i need to stream and what does what.... With so many clickbait channels and nonsense.... Finding your videos was a breath of fresh air by far.... Trying to make all the right moves as i have everything but capture card and a pc to edit and trying to figure out id i should just buy a old mac book pro... Or pc so i can make the righr moves and buy ehat i need on a budget but with quality stuff as i was recently disabled from a bad accident and video games have been my only joy so i would like to continue that. I have a late 2015 Macbook air, and currently have Elgato HD60 with a chat link pro connected to my controller as well a mic connected to my mac. my question is will I have any problems hearing/capturing game chat or party chat if I upgrade to the hd60 X? and will I be able to capture my own voice as well with the set up? sorry if i don’t make sense, but thank you again

On the hd60 s+ i had to turn off hdr on my setup. With the hd60 x can you run with hdr enabled? I think on the xbox it was a yuv 4.2.2 that i had to turn off to get it to work. I don't record often but when i play i want my 4k with hdr whether im recording or not.

when you go to edit the video after using these devices is your voice separate from game audio? I have been trying to figure out how to separate my voice audio from the game audio so it isn't mixed and it makes subtitling easier aswell as adjusting volumes easier. this is for console recording if anyone can leave a link or some tips I appreciate it

I have the new MacBook Pro and I can't get the game footage to show up in the "Elgato Game Capture" app ...It passes through to my tv and the app is picking up the audio from the hd60x but it's not recognizing the gameplay footage. My Hd60 S+ works just fine but I can't get the x to show up :(

Great video ! My HD60x just arrived and I tried figuring out 120fps recording on Elgato’s app. I found this directly from their site “To record the full 120Hz signal into a 120fps video, other software such as OBS Studio must be used and configured to record at 120fps. “ Sucks their app can’t do it , flashback 120fps recording would be AMAZING

Will this work for a two pc setup? My gaming pc monitor is 1080p144hz and the capture card says that can pass-through 1080p240hz but I don't know if I will have screen tearing in my stream.

I livestream tabletop board games with my iPhone 13 Pro using clean HDMI with OBS at 1080p 60fps. Will a capture card make for smoother video? The iPhone sometimes shows some micro jittering when moving the camera. Will the capture card improve on this?

6:32 I was hoping there was a solution to that problem without me having to use the chat link for less wires because on my HD60S there literally no latency and I play my games using the hdmi audio. I use my AstroA40s to stream with.

I recently bought an Elgato HD60X and the Chat Link Pro also. The gameplay successfully mirrored and its audio captured well. But when I plugged the earphone jack into my phone, the gameplay audio seems dissappeared from the OBS soundbar. But I can monitor the audio game from the earphone. When my teammate speak, its audio comeout from my phone speaker although I already wearing an earphone. In the end, I can play normally, but I can't open my in-game mic and also the speaker. I play PUBG Mobile on Asus ROG Phone 2, MacBook M2 Pro as a desktop, and use OBS. Can someone suggest me what to do? 😣🙏

Does this work with iPad Pro I have an elgato hd60s the old one and I already noticed upon getting my new iPad Pro that it doesn’t work with it. It shows the screen but then crashes like 5 seconds in. I tested it with my iPhone and it works fine. And yes I do have the lightning adapter for the iPad Pro.

The HD60x doesn't seem to work with the Astro Mixamp the same way as the S, and S+ does either. I can't get it to work without the screen spliting.

Not sure if anyone can help. I have the ElGato 4K60 mk2 and I am recording Spider-Man 2 and for some odd reason when I record it skips frames 😞 when I play it back it’s when I notice the frame skipping.. anyone know how to fix this issue? I haven’t had it before, it just started with Spider-Man 2…

Question ? Can the gameplay go through usb c plug to the computer or can it only go through hdmi? Because I just tried to hook stuff up and I had it where the hdmi out the game into elgato and then out elgato into the computer but the is a lantency issue if I do it that way and use my computer screen to play .. so I was gonna split the hdmi out my game to go to my tv for gameplay and to the elgato for stream will that work and I hope I’m making sense lol

Bro I am trying to use the HDS60+ but it gives me black screen on my PS5 monitor, it does say it is connected to the PC and OBS but I get no signal and black screen, HDCP is off, I checked everything but it's just not working, just ordered the HD60X hoping that will do the job.

love your videos, bought the hd60x, very easy to set up but i think my mac might be too old, seems like i can only record in 720p 30fps, there is stuttering. should have i gone with the one that records directly to sd card? because then i can still use the mac to do some light editing on the videos which i have tested works fine on imovie ?

If Im running a gaming laptop (legion 7 slim 7) do you think I should still have the usb c to usb c or can I just use a regular one? (I ask this because you are using a basic mac whilst i have a gaming laptop designed for performance). Hey I'm pretty stupid, could you please clarify for me: can't you just put in a regular headphone in your HD60 X? Or will you need a chat link? From how you explained it, the chat link is for recording game audio and talking while on stream? Or am I just confused?

It’s for recording game audio and chat from your controller. The mic will go through for your team to hear you only. You still need another mic for commentary on your stream software. How do you hear audio currently? For example, if you’re listening from your controller, you’ll need the chat link pro cable to split the connection to yourself and the capture card.

@MidnightMan I was wondering if you knew why my elgato hd60s+ has some really weird visual bugs, like when Im playing Cod & moving around looking around, my quality starts to get really blurry & nasty, but when I stop and just go afk the quality goes back to normal? is it just the fact that I'm moving rlly quick with a high sensitivity or something I need to fix in my elgato settings?

You need to update your stream settings. You have your quality either set to low, or bitrate is too low

I'm still confused. If I use HD60X on my PS5, can I still play the game at 4k120fps (like Fornite or COD) while recording to PC at either 2kfps or 1080p60fps?

You cannot play in 4k 120, that’s what it means when you’re not able to pass that signal

Do you have any extra ports? You can use usb hubs for the webcam and mic

Hi! Love your videos! I got this yesterday and replaced my HD60S. My stream preview on stream labs and when I record without live streaming is fine but when I go live its a black screen and cant hear sound. Trying to find a fix?

What computer are you using? Sound like there may be a resource issue if things are going wrong when streaming. Are you using the same settings for recording and streaming? Also feel free to join my discord or DM on my socials for a quicker response.

i might sound stupid because i have no knowledge about capture cards and i want to know if i can play the nintendo switch through my pc for better image quality? without streaming to the internet. i just want to be able to get the screen from the switch on my desktop to play games on higher image quality and better upscaling options. if anyone knows if this is possible? please let me know!
