After just having a colonoscopy, I abstained from my Mounjaro for 8 days and liquids only for 3 days before the procedure and fasted for 24 hours. I was _not_ going to have my colonoscopy canceled for any reason after doing that horrid prep drink. I have seen many different "studies" that say _to_ stay off for at least a week and this is a new one saying otherwise. If I had to have surgery again, I will absolutely abstain from my GLP-1 for at least 8-14 days. Aspiration pneumonia is nothing to mess with. I will say that I took my shot when I came home from the colonoscopy and found that was a mistake. Propofol, pain meds, and GLP-1s all can cause constipation. For me, I had complete impaction that needed to be hand-evacuated. Fun times. If I had surgery again for anything, I will not take my medication for at least another week after the procedure... or until I have a couple of awesome BMs. I learned the hard way (literally!). I did notify my GI doc and he said he would pass the anecdotal info to his team.

I’m really not sure! Right now I’m on 10mg and I keep losing about a pound a week without really trying. I’ll try 7.5 next and see if I can maintain on that. I’m thinking maybe it’s 5 that will be my maintenance dose. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!

This is chrisopher. You are correct. I do not believe that the current fear of processed foods is correct. Processing is neither good or bad - look at the food, the ingredients, the calories, fat, cooking method, etc and make the choice that works for you.

This is Laraine- I hate to cook. I don’t eat frozen meals everyday, but if it keeps me away from take out / fast food, it’s a win for me.

Are you eating super clean and hydrating well? Avoid greasy foods. Otherwise maybe you have to switch to the other GLP1.

We have had minimal side effects - minor constipation. Talk to your doctor about the dosages but in general do the .25 for the first 4 weeks your body needs to get used to it. It’s the starter dose then you can progress up in the pattern as your body adjust .5, .75, 10 etc

We own a scale that tracks that daily. Our doctors advice is to use the numbers directionally as trends

This is Christopher we have a digital scale that tracks it - I have lost almost 70lbs total and 6lbs of they is muscle. Which according to this app place we in the high range for goal muscle mass. The muscle loss concern is certainly something we watch - when anyone loses this much weight muscle will be lost. Honestly we have done our best to eat protein and exercise and the benefits of a healthier weight have far surpassed losing a little bit of muscle.

You have achieved a great ratio with most of the loss being fat. Congrats !

Do think my biggest drop of the week is around day 3, and have also heard that daily weigh ins keep people more accountable. I weigh daily and record once per week on Tuesdays.

Hi! I weigh every day and my app records it. Shot day is Friday- I record Friday’s weight on my spreadsheet. I also weigh in Saturday at Weight Watchers. I haven’t noticed a drop on day 3- but I could go back and look at all my weights😜Theoretically that would make sense.
