If you were a fan, you will love this interview. Sadly, they are both gone now but few had a creative partnership that lasted as long as that of Wallach and Jackson. Married for 66 years, they met in 1946 when they appeared together in the Tennessee Williams’ one-act “This Property Is Condemned”.
Jackson won the Obie in 1963 for the off-Broadway production of the Murray Schisgal one-acts “The Typists,” which they reprised for TV, and “The Tiger,” which was expanded into their 1967 feature comedy “The Tiger Makes Out.”Wallach and Jackson starred together in a Broadway production of “Rhinoceros.” They were joined by their daughters, Katherine and Roberta, in the 1978 off-Broadway production of "The Diary of Anne Frank” and reminisced about their lives and careers off-Broadway in 1993 in “In Persons.” They also starred in Anne Meara’s 2000 off-Broadway production of “Down the Garden Path.”Their TV and movie collaborations were rare -- their last appearance was in a 2003 episode of NBC’s “ER,” in which they played a married couple. Eli died at age 98 and Anne at age 90.
Consumate actors who gave us so much joy through their work!

They had a great marriage (66 years!), Family and were not only great actors but had a great comedy routine...I was only a kid then but I knew why my parents were laughing!

Impossible! There are simply so many actors who have been leads. This actor was never a lead. It is impossible for anyone to have Eli as a favorite actor. It is really impossible that he can be your favorite actor.

A great actor, whose fan I was and is and will always remain. In real life a wonderful man, I always had a dream someday hope I meet my favourite star Eli Wallach. The greatest blessing is he married one woman and till his death never separated (1948-2014) given the modern actors and actresses who mint money and then get married ample of times as if a family and marriage is a game. Another actor I remember is Ben Turpin who loved is wife till her death, whom he tried a lot to save and was by her side till she died, being a Catholic he took her to different religious sites praying for a miracle. Such wonderful rich actors are rare to find. I do miss Ben Turpin but above all I miss you, my favourite actor Eli Wallach!

I like the actor but all that catholic alcoolic message is rubish and you can tell there's no more love in his wife's eyes, she stayed married for the press. You are very naive

Sweet and somewhat brave of her to say Gig Young was a friend, his story is so tragic, he after all took his wife's life and his own. So sad. They seemed to be a good pair together ❤
