I agree with the sharpie marker note on A122. I have been told they are not all that way. If B is super close to A, I may pass.

I was gifted a bottle of the Barrel Proof a while back (batch A121), and it's very much the most potent whiskey in my cabinet. The flavors in there are as strong as the actual alcohol, and suffice to say, I tend to reserve it for special occasions.

Try a B or C. The As are usually more alcohol forward imo. I don't really care for them. A121 definitely wasn't my favorite.

One positive about being in a control state that when we do get things they are always msrp. We finally got B522 a couple weeks ago…….unfortunately never saw the A batch.

Just found this for the $59.99 SRP. Limit 1, but no worries if it’s not marked up! Living in the boonies means it’s hit or miss-first ECBP since A121-but love it when I score a hit.

ECBP is probably the best bang for money, I really enjoyed them I did not see the B522 yet , they usually go for around $70+ here (NJ,NY). I have to admit they all are delicious some little bit better but overall great bourbon.

I went to heaven hill during vacation and was surprised to see ECBP on the shelf so I had to get it. I can never really find it in MD.

Getting this Elijah Craig release in SoCal is getting pretty slim (except last year - probably due to the releases being below expectations). We’re lucky to find one release a year, the quantities available imply allocation and the going price is $100 or must be purchased in a bundle. The going price is still reasonable considering the stats on this juice, but it needs to deliver like the pre-2021 releases.

I picked a bottle of A122 up at the Evan William's Experience gift shop in downtown Louisville a few weeks ago. It was $80 there even.

Funny how a lot of big bourbon KZfaqrs are split in which one is best. Even on Reddit people are 50/50 on their favorite. Funny how alot of other seasoned pros are also pulling out different tasting notes and having conflicting mouthfeel comparisons between other pros and batch’s . After buying various bottles of BP products I have noticed that some bottles Of the same juice (lot and batch)have different mouthfeels and flavor strengths and weaknesses. Our palates change all the time but even when I cleanse between sips and don’t eat before hand I get different notes and mouthfeel consistencies. Then I just end up way too hammered because 4 pours of BP will sneak up on you and make you go to McDonalds for some cheap eating delights. I can’t wait to compare the two 😀

I prefer B as well. To me it's sweeter, more viscous, and finishes longer than A.

I first bought the B521 for $69.99. Then bought the A122 about 7 months later for $79.99 from a local volume retailer. Now they just got this today and are charging $89.99 for it. Ugh…

How do you think the B521 compares to the B522? I just was gifted a B521 and wasn't disappointed, but wanted to figure if a B522 would be better than a C922? They run between $70-80 for me.

This, and the Larceny BP, are on my hunting list during our summer trips. I never saw the A or B batch here in PA for either. And I'm running dangerously low on my '21s.

@reedi66 I never ordered online because I didn't want it bad enough to pay shipping on top of MSRP. And there was never another bottle available online to add to get free shipping. I've got some contacts in upstate NY so I'm confident I'll get it this summer.

You mean like the Bourbon Junkies got on their bottle? I get that ever so slightly on the finish of mine. Its not enough for me to hate it but enough for me to like everything about it except the finish. Makes me wonder if there were a few really garbage barrels out there that got into a couple of batches.

I've yet to have a ECBP I didn't enjoy. Sure some are better than others but how can you ever go wrong with a 12yr barrel proof Heaven Hill bourbon Cheers!

I was in a liquor store the other day and had the same bottle in my hand. The last one in the store. I put it back on the shelf and started talking to a guy for like 30 minutes about bourbon. I told him I felt bad because I had bought 10 bottles in the past couple weeks. He looked at me and said "600". I said "600?"......and he said "I have 600 bottles in my collection" I felt better. He then was nice enough to ask me if I was going to buy the EC barrel proof becuse I had seen it first. I said no. He grabbed it really quick and bought it. I went home feeling like I had missed out on a good bottle. I can't find it now

@@williamgullett8071 unless you’ve never had one before, I’d say u did good. This is one of the weaker batches, wait for the C batch or the ones next year that hopefully will be better.

@@jasono.1629 I think it was $75 or maybe $80. I'm still in the 30..40..$50 range. I did find a store that had 375s for 15 bucks of JD small batch, small batch rye, and small batch barrel proof. I got 4 of the small batch, and small batch rye, and 8 of the small batch barrel proof 130 proof. I thought that was a pretty good buy

It's Bourbon Night needs to put out a top # vid based on mouth feel. This sounds like a joke, and my initial thought was just that, but I really appreciate that part of a well aged whiskey more these days.

@@nefarious_saint dang I just checked stores in LA for you but nada. Only place I see it is far west LA county (Malibu) has A122, C921 and A121 but waaay to pricy at $180. Shouldn’t have to pay more than $110 in So Cal. Sorry I couldn’t help, I tried! If you’re willing to pay $150 for a older batch from 2017-19 and willing to drive to a liquor store past Simi Valley to get it, let me know.

@@jasono.1629 hey man I appreciate it. I’m in the South Bay and only found one or two places with A121 and C921. It’s ok, hopefully we get a c922 here and it doesn’t suck. Appreciate the effort tho! But I’m not spending more that $100 on these. Just not worth it. $150+ is atrocious especially since I’ve had them before for $80-90z
