Today we take a look at Elio, and many of the sequels coming from the house of mouse. #pixar #animation #disney

In 2019, Disney Animation and Pixar released their last sequels since, Frozen2 and ToyStory4 respectively. Here are the films released by both studios since then: both had zero sequels since 2019: *WDAS: Raya & Last Dragon, Encanto, Strange World, Wish. *Pixar: Onwards, Luca, Soul, Turning Red, Lightyear, Elemental. Only one known IP = Lightyear which is a spin-off.

Yeah that’s why I think it’s just bad timing since their overall output isn’t as egregious as many make it out to be

@@iMEGAmation I'm saying the narrative about Disney and sequels is extremely exaggerated. Look at the output of other animation studios; how many originals they released in the last 10 years. Disney hasn't released one in over 5 years; they released original after original including last year's Wish and Elemental. Meanwhile, Illumination's Migration is their first original in almost 10 years, it ended up being their worst performing film ever in the box office. Do you ever hear complaints about Illumination and sequels? Nope. Inside Out-2 and Moana-2 will be their respective studio's first sequel since 2019.

Yeah, I agree

Gotta be real, Elio is getting a Disney plus release with no questions asked. Disney doesn't want another box office bomb like what happened to Mars Needs Moms or Strange Magic

Disagree, those were movies with far less interest and not from one of the biggest animation studios.

Elio has the same problem as Strange world: It looks very scify and aliens. And not everyone gels with that. I definitely didn't miss Strange worlds...I just don't want to see it (Even though I know the family dynamic is pretty up my alley.) So my hopes are very low, and that could mean more sequels or less big swings...and I feel that would be a definite problem!

Animated sci-fi has certainly struggled in the box office

Why do so many people hate Elio and Elemental? I thought Elemental was amazing, and Elio looks awesome. I wish people could just lower their expectations and not think that Pixar is perfect every time and enjoy it as is.

It is sad how they milk sequels, because nostalgia and people instead of ignoring them(making Disney aware that the Route is bad), even come and are excited. We need to support original ideas, however inside out deserves a sequel(teen years of riley), yet toy story is a cash grab. TS should end at 3rd film, with a cutscene or short what happened to beepop.

I think it’s hard to call one sequels existence just, while stating another is a cash grab when we don’t know what it’s about. Not necessarily nostalgia but moreso brands continuing since most if not all of these franchise are still very much modern and in the public eye, and have been since their last entries only a few years ago.

this is an exaggerated narrative; Disney hasn't released an animated sequel since 2019. Meanwhile, Illumination's Migration was the first original animated film from them since 2016 "Sing".

Let’s hope we watch Disney get even more worse when they still make more of Blue sky studios IPs like ice age sequels nonstop even Rio
@iMEGAmation25 күн бұрын
Well those wouldn’t be made from their major in-house studios nor see a theatrical release most likely
@Mariofanaticanimations25 күн бұрын
@@iMEGAmation but Disney now owns most of the blue sky IPs since the studio blue sky studios was shuttered by Disney in April due to the pandemic
