I have 3 sets of these wheels (including 1 gravel set). And yeah, ceramic bearings are crap - did last 5000k. Yet, all wheels come with some cheap grease - if you haven't done that yet, better to open up all bearings, decrease and apply chris king silver. Also had few times aluminium nipples snapping (on gravel, due to disc brakes and forces going through those, had to replace for copper ones). Other than that - great wheels for the price

I picked up a pair of these (27mm wide, 50mm deep) and I'm so so on them. Compared to a cheaper pair of CSC wheels the braking isn't as good and there is a lot of flex. If you are running more than 25 really check they fit, I can't use them on a Cannondale supersix, mainly because of the flex hitting the rear stay. Also getting the tyre to seat properly was a faff, actually needed to pump up more than usual and ride them till they bedded in as couldn't do it by hand. Not sure if I would buy again. Wear after a summers use is fine, nothing wrong there or with the bearings, but think I'll take it to my shop and have them rebuilt as expect that is the issue. Will try some other pads too as my usual lifeline ones clearly aren't doing the job on these rims

@harrymaccycling
@harrymaccycling Жыл бұрын
Can't remember if I ever did one, but let me help, if you want to go touring, forget speed and all flashy shit, I bought this bike off ebay for maybe £3-400, it had sora 9 speed, it works fantastic and lasts 10x longer than 11 speed, cable disc brakes worked great and if you have all cable brakes and gears you can fix them if anything goes wrong. Get a steel frame they are comfortable, higher quality steel IS more comfortable as I have a new croix de fer that is definitely more comfortable than this old croix de fer, try and get a frame with as many mount as possible, this frame had a steel fork with mounts that helped me carry extra cargo, panniers definitely as you can carry more stuff easily, ortlieb is the best for a reason. Get a frame that can accommodate up to 40c tyres as it makes it more diverse, schwabe marathon plus tyres are very very uncomfortable, are yoh looking to bike tour or just get a bike?

I'm definitely not educated enough on the subject to preach about it, bit believe it's to do with 'YAW' angles (wind coming not exactly head on) as wind usually never comes exactly head on and is like broke up airflow, a wider rim with a wider curve will be more aero, a V shape rim will be more aero with a completely straight smooth headwind, but apart from the wind tunnel that is never the case, lots of data online about it

Hey, I'm definitely sticking to 80 on the back, I would have 80 on the front too but just want something a little more versatile in the winds, I race and the deeper the wheel the faster you go, the only time I would consider getting shallower wheels is on very technical races such as crystal Palace (if you know London) once you get past 35kph you can really feel the difference with a deep section wheel, I'd go 80 on the back 😎👌

So as standard they let you choose rim depth, rim width, tubular or clincher/tubless, black or white decals....I think the price only increases if you go for a deeper rim, I asked for a custom combination of 82/60 and it was no problem. They then have the option to upgrade to a few different types of spoke for an extra change, think it was £50 or £100 I went for the £50 upgrade and saved 90-100g I think, customer service chat on Ali express is quick and great, quick and much better experience then any western bike brand I've felt with haha, by the way I am not sponsored or payed to say any of this, was just genuinely a great experience with them

So I'm about to order the same frame, brakes and wheels in the same profile and was wondering if you managed to successfully fit those 28c tyres you mentioned? Can you confirm whether there is sufficient room under the forks and brakes to accomodate the slighty wider tyres? I guess also keen to know if they sit flush with the 28mm rim? The spokes are carbon spokes, which makes the wheel lighter.The hub is a ceramic bearing. hub will be more lubricated.The structural design and performance of the hub are also different.
