I always remember that the original story is about a teacher and a Mountie. I know she has deep feelings for Lucas but in her heart she loves Nathan. Only the writer’s know how this plays out. I just don’t want another triangle!! Love this show!! 😍❤️

I agree with you that Elizabeth has very deep feelings for Lucas, and even loves him. However, in her heart, she is "IN LOVE" with Nathan. So, why is she with Lucas then? She pushes Nathan away because she feels that Nathan could meet the same fate as her late-husband Jack; and her heart couldn't bear it. (Just recently when she thought Nathan was hurt, she distraughtly told Cummings that she can't do this again)! So, she is trying to protect herself from that hurt that could happen so quickly and easily in Nathan's line of work! Nathan, like Jack is really the "Love of Elizabeth's Life!"

Elizabeth isn’t a fickle woman. She loves Nathan as a friend, nothing more. Her heart is committed to Lucas. S9 proved that.

It seems to me it should be a solidification that she can not choose a mountie and spend her life worrying every time he has to put himself in danger. She cant do that again.

No. I hope Nathan stops this flirtation with "changing her mind"? Her choice was love AND a whole slew of other qualities. Now, you hurt Lucas, confuse your son, and would have Nathan wondering "really?" Nothing in E. s character is so light headed. Of course if a mountie she cares about is shot and killed in the line of duty it would be a trigger, PTSD, painful. Jack and Rosemary worked things out. I hope the same thing happens here. No regrets. A warm, true and deep friendship.

Jack and Rosemary were Engaged Too Like Lucas and Elizabeth, Faith Broke Up with her fiance and so Did Fiona so why do lucabeth fans seem to think its either her being really awful or PTSD again? she admitted to Rosemary that she Chose Lucas BECAUSE of PTSD and that seems worse than Choosing to face your Fears and overcome to me. choosing Lucas is the other side of the same coin of Not another Mountie Both decisions are made because of her PTSD i think if we cut out Fear Factors from it at all she has a deeper Friendship with Nathan and so If she had healing time and space and makes her decision slowly I would guess she'd end up with Nathan

The character of Elizabeth that WCTH has spent 10 seasons developing is not a flip-flopper. After taking 2-3 years to decide who she wanted, the idea she would reverse course, barring some grievous revelation about Lucas' (we're talking pedophilia, rape, murder, etc.) is not in line with her character as a clear-eyed, strong, decisive woman.

She most definitely flip flopped to Lucas after leaning heavily toward Nathan in Season 7. Season 8 was a total 180 flip flop to Lucas. Its time to right the ship back to Nathan and correct Season 8 mistake

Except, she didn’t. It is obvious that some fans built upon those red herring scenes we were told to watch for to create the r’ship between E/N that they wanted rather than what was shown on screen. A re-watch of only those scenes between E/L, E/N and even E/L/N would show that. Go all the way back to S6. Christmas tree scenes and cupcake icing didn’t cement their fate. I am so sorry that so many fans weren’t open to truly watching what happened and how E fell in love with Lucas. He listened to her and understood her.
