Rewatching this today hits very different. Seems like Ellen knew what he was going through so she wanted to remind him how much he’s loved. I never met him and I’ve been crying for 3 hours and I’m not stopping anytime soon. Can’t imagine how people closer to him are going through

The news made me very sad. No matter what his smilng face always allowed me to smile even when I was not having a great day. Thru that beautiful smile he had was sadness we never noticed. I agree with others that Ellen knew his struggles and I am sure she tried to help in ways we don't know. Some said it was financial problems. I don't think so he was paid a million last 2 seasons and 500k at the begining. I also believe if that was the case and Ellen knew she would have helped him out

I feel like Ellen maybe knew about his struggles, she was almost crying throughout the tribute she made, saying I don't want to say goodbye, he's not going to be out of my life, he's always a part of my life and repeatedly reminding him that he is loved. Gosh this is heart breaking, people usually give tributes to people that have passed, but Ellen felt the need to do this before he left this world. She really felt for him, and really wanted him to stay in this world. Bless his soul!

That's what I was thinking. She obviously knew he was struggling and wanted to let him know he is appreciated and loved. I know people have said that Ellen isn't the best, but I can't deny the kindness she has shown to him here. I'm glad she let him know that he is loved. RIP ❤🕊

He is proof that having a big heart and loving personality can take you a long way. I remember when he was on sytycd, he wasn't the best dancer on the show. But because everyone loved who he was and his loving energy, everyone wanted to work and be his friend. He was such a bright light in this dark world. He will be missed and may his family get through this tough time.

It's like Ellen knew a little more of what he may not have felt openly comfortable to disclose and that he was near giving up. What a warm reminder to his lovely contributions before the end of his battle. May he sleep peacefullly 🙏🏾

I am shocked and in disbelief. This is unreal, and so, so incredibly painful. I can't even imagine what the people closest to him are going through right now. I send prayers to his children, to his wife and family, and to all of his loved ones. I send my love to Ellen and everyone affected by his passing. This can't be real. My heart is heavy, and with every person going through this struggle right now. May you be comforted and blanketed in peace.

Thank you. I lost my mom to suicide 2 years ago next month, and I’m 17 now. The struggle is the same as it was the second I was told. I am praying for his children extra hard tonight, because they do not deserve that pain.

So very unexpected, so tragic, so deeply devastating, and and it's rocked me to the core. It's so upsetting to me that a soul that shone so brightly has been extinguished. I don't have even a fraction of his light to offer the world, and although I've been homebound from depression for several months now and my light is very dim at the moment, I hope I can manage to gather the strength to one day shine brightly again. Remember, DEPRESSION LIES. Don't believe the lies. Stay Earthside. 💗 If you're struggling, there are so many resources out there! People who WANT to help. Also, Jenny Lawson's books have been a legitimate and literal lifesaver for me. She KNOWS how we feel and she REALLY gets us. (Available wherever you buy books. Unfortunately reminds me of Robin Williams. Both men could wear a smile and keep everyone around them happy. Everyone has a silent fight, some share what they're going through and some would rather go thru it than share. I too am guilty of the latter. Family is my focus, times change wounds heal so my Dad says unfortunately I don't agree. While the wound heals you will always remember the cut.

Rewatching this today is heartbreaking to say the least. tWitch was such a beam of light and love and to know how much he must have been suffering on the inside is unfathomable because you just never would have guessed it. May his passing help continue to raise awareness for Mental Illness and help those who are also suffering in their own silence. As a person who grew up a competitive dancer my entire life (I’m only 19), I went to conventions and grew took classes from twitch. This man is one of the reasons I feel in love with hip hop and it is not one of if not my favorite style. He was an icon to the dance world and an inspiration to so many, may he Rest In Peace 🕊💔

I’m so heartbroken right now. I first found out about twitch on SYTYCD when he did his dance to John Mayer’s “dreaming with a broken heart” and I’ve loved watching his family since. I pray his wife and kids find happiness again and he is at peace.

This really hurts because he has so much life and laughter that's genuinely honest, but the reality is WE don't know what a person is struggling with inside and I feel for his Mom, wife, children and fans across the world 😢. I loved the addition of tWitch to the show. The man has smooth moves & when he dances with the audience he does it in a way as to not make fun of them if they are rythmically challenged. Awesome guy & wish him well🕺🏿✌️

Waking up to the news of his passing has me absolutely shook, gut wrenched and heartbroken. Truly unbelievable. Mental health is never easy. It hurts to know he was in such incredible pain. I hope he is at peace and dancing up in heaven. Such a beautiful soul with an incredible light and such infectious energy. Watching you and your love story all these years really brought me such a joy. This loss really hurts. I pray for Allison, his kids and all his loved ones. He will be deeply missed and always loved. This one is very tough. Sending love, strength and light to all who are needing it, especially today 🙏❤️

What can I say, anyone who watched Ellen's show in a sense knew tWitch, his joy in being on the show, his joy of life. It breaks my heart that he couldn't find a way thru and out of whatever it was that made him feel that he had to leave us in this way. Stephen tWitch Boss you brought another point of light to my life and I will always be thankful for that and hold all the fun memories of watching you and Ellen together. RIP Sir tWitch-alot.

The show ket him alive, you need something to keep you going, and her show was everything to him. When you have that deep love and connection with something that becomes your life is hard. I am deeply sad for this news and all his family and people that loved him. I had depression and watching him dance gave me light again, that energy and laughs. Same as Ellen! ❤

Incredibly heartbroken and devastated by this. tWitch was so very talented and brought enjoyment just to watch him dance. I'm sure he has inspired many around the world with the gift of him being himself, having that infectious smile and energy. An awesome dancer and choreographer he was. Prayers for his family.

I remember watching this and seeing the true connection they both had. Totally unexpected and devastating situation. I have been following tWitch since day 1 on SYTYCD. The world lost one of the great ones this week. I hope he is resting in peace and light and dancing the rest of his days away! RIP Stephen Boss

i am still at a loss for words and shocked. it breaks my heart. we truly never know a person's inner struggles. he was so loved and full of energy and life. Ellen's tribute was heartwarming and so special. that is not just love of a co worker that was sharing her love for a family member. he was part of her family. my heart goes out to his family and friends.

Tomorrow is a day we all thought would never arrive, This show has embodied kindness towards those that needed it most. From those suffering after disasters, to creating or giving donations to help others in need ( like the wildlife fund or Ukraine), and lastly, it’s helped us see how lucky people like Ellen exist on this planet. Thank you for putting the generous in DeGeneres, Ellen! Be kind to one another!

I can't bring myself to watch the farewell stuff but even I couldn't skip this one. Their bond is so sweet and gentle and kind. Like brother and sister who love each other. This show was my comfort through so many hospital stays and so much pain and so much loneliness. I can't watch this all yet but I know I will one day and it will be so great.

This hit very hard…”I never want to say goodbye”. Twitch was such a light, such a beautiful soul. The fight is hard, I wish he could’ve held on. You never know what someone is going through, so be kind, be compassionate and be understanding to others. WE WILL MISS YOU AND NEVER FORGET YOU TWITCH. Ellen clearly knew he was going through something. That gentle kiss and embrace was very sweet. It’s so sad that this man lost his life to depression. No only did he lose his life, but we lost a beautiful talent.
