Denise, this out of the box idea is so brilliant! I remember the first time I pulled a wig from the box and tried it on and I was so lost. I wasn’t even sure I was putting it on my head correctly. I didn’t even know that KZfaq had wig help. Thanks so much for this!

I just found Turn in Bernstein rooted on clearance and grabbed her. I'm so excited! It's funny, not that long ago I never would have worn curls. Then I fell in love with girl mono. I just purchased Turn in Chocolate mix from a wig sister who had tried on by did not like, so I too got a fantastic deal. Should have her this week. I have Turn in Caramel Rooted and I love her. More that Girl Mono partly because she is a bit shorter. Fantastic Review Denise. I like the video before and after alot.

You are the best!!! Now that you are a Girl Mono convert we are even more the same, lol!! I do prefer GM length to Turn, but sometimes it is nice to have a short style that is completely off the neck.

I just got her from CysterWigs - in light Bernstein rooted. She is adorable !!! I loved her right out of the box. I wanted something shorter and lighter for summer but didn’t want straight , she will be perfect for those afternoons on the golf course.

Wow - out of the box it was already perfect! Great style. Like I've said before, if they start making more non-rooted blonde colors, I will become an Ellen Wille customer. They have them in certain styles, but not the current releases. I'd love to try Turn and Girl Mono and a few more from the Changes collection.

Your videos are so GREAT Denise! I have to wear wigs ALL the time due to alopecia similar to your's, but worse. I bought Turn when on sale at WigStudio1 a few weeks ago and just recently received it in Champagne R. I expected it to be more A-line than it is after seeing only Taz's review. The shape of the head, not just the face, makes a big difference in how the hair lays. On me it much more like it is on you.......a somewhat short curly bob maybe just a tiny bit longer at the front sides and not as stacked in the back as it appeared to be on her. I will trim it up slightly at the back to make it more A-line which I suits me better. You’re right, the front lace is wonderful, as Ellen Wille wigs usually are :) I bought two and have only worn one which isn't quite as curly as your's, but given the variances in these wigs, I'm not surprised. Again, love your down to earth videos!

I am so glad I stumbled across this video Denise. I got this wig 2 days ago and I packed her up to return right away. I popped her on and thought oh crap ! Hahah. Previously, I have purchased Violet, Shayna and Sweet Talk, but found all just too overwhelming for my features. Oh gosh, I can totally understand why Sweet Talk, Shayna, and Violet overwhelmed you so early in your journey. I have all but Sweet Talk (and I've been afraid of the volume on that one) and there is no way I could have worn ANY of them early in my journey. I learned something new recently, the same wig can have different curl or wave patterns if the color is different. There’s ladies who try on the same wig, but different colors, the switch out the wigs, so you can see how wigs look different in different face shapes and skin tone.

I love this one so much! I have Sweet Talk but haven't reviewed it yet.... Sweet Talk has a LOT more hair and is a bit longer... do you have other wigs? What styles do you like most and what do you struggle with? If you are new to wigs, I would recommend this one over Sweet Talk because it has less permatease and hair and is easier for a new wig wearer. Hi, Donna! You know, I don't think that Turn has more curls overall... although all my Girl Mono wigs have a little bit different curls so it depends on which one I am comparing it to.... but my favorite more curly ones, then no. I really do think this is just a shorter Girl Mono.

The Ellen Wille I just purchased has a larger cap for sure! My old Echo needs the strap adjusters let all the way out to fit my head but I didn’t even have to change the adjusters in my new Echo.

I was thinking the same thing. Several years ago I heard from one reviewer that EW was making wig sizes larger in the US as opposed to Europe. Apparently, we have larger heads on average in comparison.

Love the comparison. I just got my girl mono after seeing the super cute curl and your review from a while ago. You are right about how different they can look, mine does not have the cute curlup curls mine are loose and large which is a completely look different from your videos and the website pics. Is there something I can do to kink the curls up a little or should I just return and exchange to see if a different one will be more curly? Thank you for your thoughts and advice, I feel so blessed to have found your videos.

It is really hard to know what is possible unless I see the piece. It is possible that a cold water soak and then a good scrunch will be all she needs, but once you do that you can't return and then you are stuck. That has worked for me in all but once case... there was no helping the curls on one of my Girl Monos.... she came from the factory limp and lifeless and never recovered, lol. I always say I am so glad that one wasn't my first Girl Mono cause I would never have gotten another.

Will this adjust to a 23 inch head? p.s. I hate having such a big head lololo Turn won't work for me since the hairline at my nape goes too far down and it would show :(

Denise, this looks great on you. You mentioned you'd have to do some work if you want the part to show because the mono part is a bit dense. Do you mean plucking the hairs to create more of a part? I have a lot of cheap synthetic wigs that I do this with, but I'm scared to do so to my more expensive wigs. :) Do you ever pluck hairs to create a wider part in the EW wigs? Thanks for your videos. Yes, that is exactly what I mean. I haven't normally had to do that with Ellen Wille wigs, but have done it with many others in the same price range. I was terrified at first as well, but now I just see it as part of the wig wearing journey. HUGS!

Hi Denise can you clarify what the differences between hot mocha and hot chocolate mix I like more of a red Brown tint verse red and gold. I see you have both colors in different reviews but I'm on the fence of which one to choose and I want girl mono or turn thank you for your help💕

Hi, Karen.... so the Hot Mocca Rooted color codes are 830.27.33 and the chocolate mix color codes are 830.6.4.... so technically the Hot Mocca should have more red in it than the Chocolate Mix. A 27 is a strawberry blonde and a 33 is a dark auburn, whereas the 6 and 4 in the Chocolate mix are a medium dark brown blend. The Hot Mocca Rooted is definitely more red brown vs the Chocolate Mix is more brown with just a hint of auburn from the 830. These colors are not available in Girl Mono, I don't think.... In girl Mono you can get Chocolate rooted which I LOVE- and those color codes are 6.30.4.... that one I would consider an auburn brown and it is so pretty.

I'm getting ready to purchase my first wig. I wear bangs because I think I look better with them. Love the curls of Girl Mono and Turn...but wonder if it's doable/realistic to have a stylist or wig shop tackle cutting bangs on either of these two wigs. Maybe the fibers wouldn't lend themselves to a natural-look wispy bang? The more I watch, the more I learn. But then...the more questions too.

Hi, Kathy. Unless you are willing to take a steamer to the bangs and straighten them some, I do think it would be hard to cut a true bang in them... that said, they both have a few shorter layers in the front so it does sort of look like a side swept bang of sorts.... but without straightening some I do not thing you can get them to lay like bangs.

Bonnie, even though this one feels a bit more roomy than other Ellen Wille wigs I do think this would be tight on you with a 23.5 circumference... mine is 22"

I think the only way that would work would be to take steam to the bang and straighten it.... otherwise I am afraid it might not lay right.

wow, what a beautiful little wig ..... a big thank you for this video, I love all your videos ... tell me, for color, is chocolate mix of Ellen Wille is darker than R6-28F from Estetica .... I hesitate to order chocolate mix, I'm afraid that this color is too dark .... and I saw a video or you show outside in the light of day, the color F6-28F from Estetica that seems not so dark. Are these two colors comparable or if one is darker than the other ..... again thanks for this excellent video ...

I ask for the colors because I ordered Bellissima Belle Tress in the color chocolate with caramel and the videos this color seemed not so dark but in reality it is a little darker than I expected. .... on your video the color seems not too dark, that's why I ask a comparison between chocolate mix and R6-28F ...... thank you

That is a great question! Actually they are nearly identical... the color code for Chocolate Mix is 6.30...so they both have a 6 medium chestnut brown in them. The difference between the 28 (in Estetica) and 30 (Turn) is really hard to see in person. A 28 is more of an irish red while the 30 is a light auburn. I held these up side by side to answer this and honestly they look nearly identical. Let me see if I can do a side by side for you in outdoor and indoor light and post it.

@@heywigsister oh yes would be great side by side inside and out to compare the two colors .... there are not many videos that really consoles colors and color comparisons, it really helps a lot for choosing the color that would suit us best .... thank you very much for your answer .....

What does a mono part mean?

Hi, LouAnn. It means that there is a special material (called Monofilament) that mimics scalp to make the part look more natural.

I just got Turn and it looks nothing like yours. The curls are going in every direction in the front and top like an unmanageable mess and the curl pattern in the front looks nothing like the pattern in the back. I'm afraid to hardly touch it to see if it will be 'fixable' because then I won't be able to return it.
