Ellie (she/her) openly shares her mental health struggles in this story and how roller skating saved her, but also how she came to realise it was also a tool she was using for self harm. Stepping away from roller skating for the first time in years was really difficult, and she shares her journey through having to watch from afar, what it feels like and more. The FOMO is real, however, Ellie is undaunted, choosing to view this as an opportunity rather than a setback.
Ellie says "I've had to step away from skating, which was scary, but I am quite excited to get back out there and see where people have come. Have they broke through that stall? Are there new people? I don't know, but I am genuinely excited!"
