I have mine it’s my second day f having them I’ve nay fell twice and I’m now faster ;v; Edit: I haven’t been able to skate because I messed up my wrist pretty badly :(( but I’m going to start physical therapy and slowly but surely I’m getting out of my brace

For anyone looking to buy skates rn it’s really important that you also have the right tools to maintain them. Skates right out of the box might need to have their wheels loosened or trucks tightened you need to check those before you roll out! 🖤

I just bought some skates how do I check my wheels or tighten it. If i tighten it will me slipping easily not happen as much . I'm learning anew and I'm scared to go on smooth floor im in my room instead with carpet lol

EVERYONE PLS USE GUARDS AND HELMETS WHEN SKATING!!! especially if you are doing this outside and are new. Don’t forget to stretch either!!

I mean she dosent have to I started when I was about 9 or 10 and I have never worn protection or gon to the hospital because of roller skates and I still roller skate to this day yes I do fall occasionally but I know how to catch myself if she wants to wear them she can but she rlly dosent have to it’s just on preference

@@jesspineda5254 Im sorry but you have been incredibly lucky even the best of skaters wear protection. Basic safety is not a preference! You can become severely injured when if you just fall in your house putting your skates on. One of my closest friends almost died and not has permanent damage to her brain, not crazy when it comes to TBI, she was just in her house and she knows how to fall she is in roller derby and she was putting on her skates and slipped and hit her head. Please do not tell people it is a preference to be safe it is very naive and dangerous. ik you ment nothing by it bc you are only giving advice based on what your experience has been bit you are still incorrect. Everyone needs to wear at least a helmet.

I know how to ride a skateboard and I’m now learning how to rollerskate but for me skateboarding is easier and if you trip or something on a skateboard then you can just jump off but the injuries are way worse than rollerskates and rollerskates are hard and when I fall on my butt it hurts a lot but sometimes I save myself by using my hands (I wear gloves) and once you know how to skate then it’s really fun

I'm so impressed that this was your fear and still you started in the middle of the court with no support nearby. This is something I was way more excited about than scared of and still, the first times I stood on my skates I held on to walls and people for dear life haha

It IS scary. I been practicing in my smooth tile floor basement. After about 5 sessions (only 20 minutes) my heart isn’t pounding like at first. I have all safety gear, INCLUDING PADDED SHORTS!

I've been binging on roller skating videos and finally got my first pair yesterday! Decided to try them out right away, adjusted the wheels and trucks and put them on. I had them on for just 5 seconds and already landed on my bum. So I'd say you did better than me on my first try! Had my second session today and already felt like my confidence on the wheels was doubled since the day before. I've found that starting roller skating is really about having the confidence to make a move and try things. Being scared of everything will just make you fall. This video was so lovely and funny too! Hope you've found a new hobby and didn't abandon the skates!

I ordered those exact same roller skates about 2 months ago from a foreign seller on Amazon to get to me in England but they got sent to some other country because the seller put the wrong address on! 😅 I know, annoying! I just tried skating for the first time ever & the moment I got up & tried rolling plonked STRAIGHT on my butt! I went to a rollerskating class though so it was all good the instructor helped me out ALOT 😂 I wasn't brave enough to just go to a park by myself & pick in it up on my own lmao I spent the whole lesson just grasping the wall of the rink trying to get used to it (as advised by the instructor 😅). STILL don't feel confident to not hold onto anything YET LOL I also picked up rollerskating adhering to this same philosophy! I'm not letting fear stop me from learning it!!!!
