Today im going over the biggest sneaker flops of 2023. Theres been a bunch of sneakers that brands thought would be the next big thing in terms of Hype, however what ended up happening was the opposite. These are my picks that I thought had the biggest declines in hype but definitely leave your thoughts down in the comments!

Are we saying certain pairs are flops because they aren’t reselling for some convoluted inflated price? If that’s the litmus test we’re using for whether or not something is a “flop”, then that is absolutely ridiculous. And keep flopping then so I can buy what I want for a reasonable price.

They only sell out because resellers buys all of the hyped shoes… those shoes just moved to reseller’s shelves,,, they were not really bought by fans so they’re were not truly sold out…

Think you need to take the economic factors into account with some of these sneakers, especially AJ1s. Cost of living is really high and there's less people keen to constantly drop money on sneakers new from Nike or expensive previous releases, leading to a price decline across the market.

Drake is not a fashion icon so of course Nocta is a flop. Same story with Ivy Park being a flop. Two extremely popular people that aren’t considered style icons and their lines suffered as a result

Nike kept releasing and pushing 1s and dunks and started releasing really shit colorways, Nike, adidas, Disney etc just milk things until there dead and then bring it back years later when everyone forgets they have been doing this forever.

Some of the Jordan 1s released this year we're pretty good but some I wasn't really feeling and I'm surprised the Royal reimagined is still sitting. As for the Off White Force one mids, the first two color ways were the best in my opinion.

I think as far as dunks and Jordan 1s I see people still wearing them but at this point if you wanted a pair you probably have it in multiple colors. So in two years when these pairs are beat people will wanna reup

People ended up being crybabies over the 720s, they ignored the TW’s - and both are awesome - so Nike backpedaled and essentially made a hybrid AM with the Pulse.

No, frankly it's amazing for us, average and not that rich sneakers amateur to see the hype (and so the prices) go down. We can finally enjoy some timeless pair of sneakers without having to pay crazy amounts.

I actually disagree; peeps were buying pairs for $300-$500+ from resellers, why is it they not buying them at $200 now they available. It’s the increase in stock levels b/c resellers are not hoarding the pairs making for false scarcity & sales volume # inaccurate. (Nike return policy don’t help)

Do you think the interest has gone away from Jordan 1 or that Nike manufactured more of them to combat resellers? The way t used to be was you could walk into a shoe store at any time and buy a Jordan 1. During the pandemic even mids were hard to get. Now they have so many, like 2 OG and 4 mids releases every month. Are they selling less or did they manufacture more and people do not have to pay "Timmies" $350" for a $170 shoe. It seems the same thing is happening to 3s and 4s.

I think Nike is trying to put snares in the resell game because it's turning people off from the brand and they are a major company not a boutique. I'm glad the Yeezys were available too I got three pairs of popular designs for 600. Again reseller markets are the ones that put hype and value on the show not the company

The popularity of sneakers seem to always go through highs and lows. The Jordan 1s are just really boring and like you said they made a zillion of them, just like the dunks. The worst Jordans ever though are 2s and 11s. The 2s are just weird looking and the 11s are just flat out horrible looking.

Sorry but Satin Bread and Suede Royals was straight cheeks. Not only did they rerelease a super rare shoe which was always just pricey due to rarity, but they put suede on a classic all leather Jordan 1. The washed black and the lucky green cool tho.

I think the reason there are so many Off White mid colourways is that nike would have had to invest in new tooling equipment for that midsole so they will need to make a lot of pairs to justify the cost involved. There is still at least one more colourway to come too, the black graffiti's. I don't mind them but i think the Off White x Nike Terra Forma is a way better shoe

its oversaturation. people dont like the model, the like what the model represents. people are more into curation now, a jordan 1 from 2013 or 2015 is a lot cooler and takes you back to a certain era. Thats my take atleast, vintage will always hold value, nike is just milking the resell game now
