Жыл бұрынWe made our way to Dong Hoi for the week here in North Central Vietnam and this city was such a nice surprise one of my new favourites for sure!
We spent the day exploring Dong Hoi city here in Quang Binh Province and could not believe how peaceful it was. Our Homestay (dolphin Homestay) offered free bikes so we pretty much just cycled around taking in all Dong Hoi had to offer.
We ate some delicious vietnamese food, visited bien nhat le which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, then spent the rest of the evening cycling around town and meeting some of the greatest people as always here in Vietnam 🇻🇳
Dong Hoi is a town that people skip and use as a transit town on the way to the Phong Nha caves but trust us this is a big mistake! This place was so chilled we almost felt like we weren't in Vietnam anymore.

I totally agree with you Dong Hoi city is a hidden gem that tourists miss it. I went there on Lunar New Year, it was really peaceful and beautiful. The city is clean and full of flowers and flags. Although it was difficult to find a restaurant to eat, the owner of the hotel invited us to join his family. I'm so sorry when you go to the beach and you see the needle, it's really scary, I think it's drifting from somewhere.? I laugh a lot when you look at that girl's phone and don't see the keyboard because she let the wallpaper cover the characters 🤣. Vietnamese children are so cute.

Thank you for showing Dong Hoi...didn't know about this place and am surprised with a beach like that it's so empty of tourists. Very sad, actually. I agree, that memorial at the end was spectacular...they should have built it across from the bombed out church. Symbolism and all that. LOL! I LOVE the kids at the end. Some British or American guy on another channel mentioned how it's a nice thing to do to stop and speak with them so they can practice their English, which I thought was very nice PSA for his viewers.

In summer I think it is super busy but we were there in rainy winter!! The kids were so much fun yeah we always make time to stop for them I couldn't bring myself to ignore them. They might have never practiced their English before with a foreigner!

What a nice place, shame about the needles on the beach. Everywhere has addiction problems. Sad. Ellis and Alicia, that was so lovely with the kids at the end, and the breakfast couple, they didn't even chase after you when you forgot to pay. Great viewing 👌

Hey Carol I think the needles actually wash in from the ocean in bad weather!! Either from South China or Vietnam which is terrible there are quite a lot of them around! Honestly the people in Dong Hoi were so nice, that breakfast couple made us smile everyday 🇻🇳 thanks for watching 🙏

Nice and quiet place little city (of around 120K people). It was my quick stop for lunch on my trip to Phong nha Ke Bang national park just north west of it. It’s the narrowest section of the country lots of people died there during Vn US wartime and now is being rebuilt. Thanks for the nice video and enjoy your trip ❤👍.

14:00 needles....that reminds me of the first time I went to Nha Trang (2002), and saw three right away, and I left the beach. Unsettling when people throw them about on a public beach. :(

Seems a really common thing in Vietnam proper shame, seen them floating around in the ocean aswell wouldn't catch me getting in there

Many foreign tourists always complain about all and everything in VN because either they don't like this country for political reasons or because they want to pay cheap and have high expectations . If they had paid a bit more , they would certainly receive a much better quality of service and accommodation . They got what they paid . Also they should not compare a developing country like VN to their wealthy home one and then complain . If not they should stay in their comfort zone instead of travelling to discover other parts of the world , meet new people and experience new cultures . Thank so much to both of you for not behaving like those haughty visitors . We appreciate it a lot .

oh my the needle ! yo can see needle in everywhere in VN, street, pool, cinema, park, building, grass, bridge....! everybody can buy needle in any pharmaceutical stores on many streets at towns.

I think the needles wash up on the beach from somewhere? Maybe China I don't know, there is also IV bags and stuff on the beach its not good! The beach in Nice weather is very beautiful though

If your tea/coffee/che is too sweet, but it comes with ice, just wait a bit for the ice to melt to dilute the sugar or swirl/stir your drink/dessert until the ice has melted before consuming. That's what I always do as ice melts faster in hotter climes like that. :)

@@EllisWR Also keep forgetting to tell you, if you see the letters ch just think the j sound. And if you see th think t and vice versa. If you see gi think z. And no matter what the southerners say, qu is makes a qu sound, not w (they butcher many sounds or speak slang). LOL

Just thinking, you should put the Vietnam flag on the title of the videos as that'll make it easier to see at a glance. Might draw in more views - at least that's what someone said to another vlogger last year. Also, it might be a good idea to pinpoint on a map where you are in Vietnam at the beginning of the video before getting into the rest of the video. Finally, if more Vietnamese (the ones living in Vietnam) viewers come, you may need to turn on subtitles for them as you can tell English is not their first language.

This area is the narrowest part , poorest of the country People over suffered the most during the 60’s 70’s armerican bomb of the the war , it’s also the reason “ made the people tougher than other area” One river over here , 2 times in the past , divided the country into 2 parts
