This video gives a glimpse of my Siberian Elm bonsai (Ulmus pumila) after a recent repotting and just as it comes into leaf.
Purchased as field-grown bonsai stock in 2005 and in development since.

Nice tree. Looking at the crate its in I would say you got that from Banksia Bonsai near Wisbech. I have had a few Siberians from him.

@@bonsai4me2 I have been buying material from him since 1994. Most of it he grows on his land and certainly back in the day he planted them up in those green crates often lined with newspaper.

Brian Kavanagh not a bad idea mate but fall off of views tends to be very high after 10 minutes....and makes large video files a killer to handle!

What is your feeding routine for an elm like this? I assume you use liquid feed?

They say that you can grow a tree faster in the ground. Looking at this timelapse I start to doupt that there is any difference as long the tree is healthy :)

Aivar Petrov If you look again you’ll see that the trunk has barely thickened despite the ramification. Tree trunks thicken much much faster if grown unpruned in the ground.

impressive ramification. how often do you defoliate it in a growing season? I assume that is how you did it... I have 3 chinese elms none of them with ramification even remotely close to yours.

Michele Tartaglia thank you. Defoliate at midsummer, and most importantly, as described in my books, prune in autumn, never spring.
