I had a bonk scout once just activate his bonk and then taunt in front of my sentry. While it was focused on killing him, the rest of his team with Über came barreling around the corner and wrecked everything. He died, but saved his team from my sentry. Couldn't really be mad.

Goddamn bonk drinker. This is one of the wackiest stories I've seen in TF2 for a while. I love this game so much.

I met a player called "Bonk Man" on Two Fort the other day. He was decked out in all of the Bonk! Atomic Punch™ official merchandise. He just stood in spawn and drank Bonk!™ the entire time. It was pretty neat, makes me wanna drink some Bonk! Atomic Punch™.

I prefer using Bonk in Halloween maps. It makes flanking behind the enemy team to get their spells and use it against them way easier. It's fun to go behind and drop a meteor spell at the unaware team.

Man i don't even play TF2, yet somehow, for some reason, i find these videos of yours to be fascinating. Keep up the great work Edit: after a bunch of the people asking me to play TF2 i gave it a try on my old steam account. It ran pretty alright, but my old computer couldn't keep up in fire fights, that paired with me maning scout for the run and gun gameplay style lead to sometimes unplayable lag. However when my PC wasn't lagging so hard that you could see whatever god you worshiped on my moniter, it was a enjoyable game. However between the few Bots i ran into, constant FPS drops, and pub stomping demomans, and Soldigers disrespectung my entire heritage onr properly placed explosive at a time, i decided to drop the game until i have a better Computer....likely the steam deck. In short TF2 was fun, but a collection of givences made me drop it for the time being. Edit 2: as of November 15th 2022 I decided played tf2 for the first time on a descent rig. Getting the controller set up initially was… an experience and the game was extremely promising but as soon as I logged into my first lag free match I was met with a very very VERY slow paced game. I stick up the full duration of the match but upon it ending I was put in a match with a Sniper bot that just absolutely obliterated me. I attempted different strats like engineer sentry’s, stick traps, and good ol fashioned Scout running, but to no avail. This continued to happen for the next four matches to which I just said “I’ve had enough of this” and shut off the game. It’s really unfortunate because the mechanics seems incredibly fun but I had to meant to engage with them in a meaningful way. It’s pretty telling the most fun I had was building a sentry base as engineer because I was actually able to engage with class mechanics without having my head turned to paste. One day I will come back to the game, and that day will be when bots are removed. Do I want to play the game more? Absolutely, but I can’t play the game in its current state.

I use bonk as stealth fish scout. I use it to get behind enemy lines, hide, and then exclusively kill the medic with a couple random fish crits

I feel like you were too focused on using bonk to get into a fight and forgot how good it is to get you out of a fight. In situations where you know youre at a lost, you're cornered, you just heard that kritz med pop on the soldier, or that phlog pyro rapidly approaching you, using the bonk almost guarantees you a safe getaway. Its a tool that allows you to take more risks than usual as scout, as it basically gives you no consequences for whenever the deal goes south.

Back in the day I played a lot of arena, there was a scout named "Asshole" that was very similar to this Bonkdrinker fellow. That was back when the sandman was good, but I have always respected the Bonk since seeing him in action. My friend and I still joke about him to this day because of how ridiculous but good he was.

Bonk is good for really good snipers (or bot bullying) and as I’ve discovered it’s really fun to meme with melee using the bonk to get point blank to normally horrifying enemies

finally another bonk user, bonk needs more recognition for scout mains cuz it's so underrated. Sure it was BS when it first came out but it needs a bit of a buff.

"bonk is bad because sentries" , you left out the part where you can constantly drink bonk to keep the sentry firing at you to give your team time to destroy it. If anything i equip bonk TO kill sentries. Though this is entirely dependent on the number of braincells the rest of your team owns sort of like medic uber. If your team sees an enemy sentry being supressed and still wont shoot it theres not much you can do.

I did some (admittedly very rough) calculations to figure out just how long it would have taken for Bonk Man to sip that much bonk and came out with the ballpark figure of 14 hours of straight drinking/resupply/drinking again, at an average speed of 3 seconds per sip

"Then what?" After getting behind the enemy? Take out teleporters, harass flanks, lure newbs, spawn camp..... It's one of the most potent weapons scout has.

For tf2 this feels semi normal, dude's still a legend. Bonk Drinker is a beast.

I love the bonk, highly underrated. My standard strat in 2nd Dustbowl is to bonk, surf off the inevitable level 3 at the first point, use that to get to the enemy teles. After I take down the teles I harass the spawners keeping them tied up. It is not unusual for 3 or 4 people to be chasing me in the back field. That gives a numbers advantage to my team at first point. If you think death matching is all this game is about, then you're playing it wrong.

I've seen plenty of scouts using bonk to "tank" the enemy sentry while their team pushes, seems to be pretty damn effective

this video actually got me using bonk from the ~250 i've drank, i've noticed that i don't really use bonk to advance into enemy territory, but rather if i was in a poor situation, i could duck behind cover, take a sip of bonk, and get out. this great utility made me realize that bonk isn't as bad as people tend to say it is. rather, there is so much amazing competition for scout's secondary, that the bonk gets drowned out by the overall great utility of the pistol and pretty boy's pocket pistol, the mobility of the winger, & the pick potential of the guillotine and the crit-a-cola makes the bonk seem a little underwhelming in comparison. even if the video didn't make you try bonk, or if you did and failed, try using it as a get out of jail free card once in a while :) it's also pretty good for practicing your scattergun aim, because you don't have a pistol to fall back on, but this is also a note for the guillotine and crit-a-cola

The main reason to use bonk is to distract the enemy sentry, that way your team can kill it without it taking huge chunks of damage out of them.

i like that even tho tf2 has some bad weapons, you still can have success with every single one of them if you just try hard enough. like many weapons are considered "bad", but you still can use them and have success with them if you have enough skill.

I may be remembering wrong, but another use for Bonk in competitive back then was to draw sentry aggro whenever uber was not available.

I like using it with the babe faces blaster because the bonk helps avoid damage so you can keep your boost and the boost let’s you lose enemy gamers who chase you down or just return to your team

As a scout who mains bonk i think its really fun to use it to go around sentrys and save yourself when your super low hp. The bonk is also a gimmick item so basically it will be less usefull then the for say mad milk but its a more fun tool to use. Same goes to heavy's holiday punch. It might be less usefull then the gru or fos, But its a fun weapon and really satisfying to use when you do.

I APPRECIATE bonk. I know it’s bad, but I appreciate it. It’s a very classic item in the game. It’s the go to drink in tf2 sfm’s, when you think about scouts secondaries it’s the most iconic.

I feel like the Bonk! Atomic punch can also be used as a Sentry distracter, you drink it, get on the shooting range, and let a teammate destroy the Sentry, it worked out for me pretty well even on solo queue.

Honestly the Bonk Atomic Punch is very situational but at the same time it's still good especially when you're working together with your time like distracting a sentry from the rest of your team, honestly all of Scout's secondaries are good

There has been a surprising amount of times where I use bonk and think "I wouldn't have survived that if I didn't have bonk" And I think that makes bonk good enough.

I would also like to say that bonk can help take down sentry nests, as sentries will target you (the invincible one) while an explosive class (like a direct hit soldier) destroys it without harm.

Bonk is actually pretty good if you're playing DPS scout in MvM, it let's you pick up money super easily since you're invincible effectively acting as not just a getaway option but also a way to regain any lost HP. It can also let you body block giant robots and bait out their shots if you pair it with the soda popper's hype ability, basically making the robot nothing more than a freaking paperweight.

I’ve gotten some really nice coordinated sentry nest busts by going in just before my teammates and tanking all the sentries with this
