The first time I have ever heard Patricia talk about Dream Warriors

Same, I just assumed she either didn’t like the movie or didn’t like the experience of making it.

@@jalenjohnson1662 We also know why she was recast in Nightmare 4 due to choices she made that went against what they wanted and not being able to handle certain effects that made her body hurt. I guess they just found her difficult to work with.

@devontehuntley6274 She didn't want to be typecast and wanted to become a serious actress. She was pregnant with her first child and also working on a different film when N4 was discussed and later released
@devontehuntley627410 ай бұрын
@@EdwardC.WilliamsII Yeah, she was gonna be typecasted after TWO damn roles as a heroine in a horror movie at a very young age in her career, one in which she would only be in halfway through before being killed off, had she returned in the fourth one. Boy bye. She still had a number of years to do other things and transition into a variety of roles. For the time being, you get what you can while the offer is there because many other actors are fighting for roles and they're not easy to get. But she wasn't in the fourth one because of how difficult producers found her to be in the third one. Thats clear in this interview right here when she even states she had no idea the role was gonna be recast as if she was open to doing it again. Given the issues she had during making the third one, it makes sense. She was being yelled at during various takes of how she would do things and also had gotten ill during a scene and reshoots when a smoke effect got too much on her body to handle. Given the stunts Tuesday Knight does in the fourth one that is a bit more extreme than what Patricia did here, I could see the makers being concerned with how Patricia would handle it. So her not being in that movie had nothing to do with her own personal situation or feelings on the experience. If she was pregnant or had some other role but was able to play Kristen again, I'm sure the filmmakers would have worked around her schedule. Kristen had half a role here so that already limits the number of days she would even be needed for than in the third one where she was the main character all the way through.

...and after years of speculation & dreamed up rumours I think we've finally been told just why Patricia was not a part of Elm Street 4! Whether it was from being yelled at for being too good of an actress or for the discomfort she suffered on such an effects heavy set, either way it seems that as much as I'm sure she's proud of the film it was just too negative an experience filming it.
@Laidengizer0118 ай бұрын
maybe. or maybe she just wanted to do something else instead.
@finster19686 ай бұрын
I read a printed interview one time where Patricia reiterated that she enjoyed the experience. I think she was simply looking to upgrade her career and was probably worried about typecasting. She wanted meatier roles, and had the talent and connections to make that happen. That’s really the biggest reason she turned down Elm Street 4.
@Laidengizer0116 ай бұрын
@@finster1968 It was good that she did. One Elm Street movie for her was enough. And they ran that series into the ground. It just got dumber and dumber.
@finster19686 ай бұрын
@@Laidengizer011 - Agreed. I’m still a big fan of the franchise. But yeah, it got too ridiculous. Parts 5 and 6 were some of the most awful cinema I’ve ever seen.
@Laidengizer0116 ай бұрын
@@finster1968 6 was an absolute disgrace. They completely s*** all over Wes Craven's creation. It was more of a slapstick comedy at that point. Never should have been made. But yeah, those ones past Dream Warriors were just cash grabs. They just couldn't let that box office revenue go.

They could have done the romance plot lines better but I agree it’s damn near perfect. I agree about the costumes. People say that’s nitpicking but something can be both a nitpick and valid tbh. I also hate it shows when it’s obvious that at character isn’t comfortable in what’s suppose to be “their room” or “their house” or when it’s obvious they don’t live in “their house” (if they’re a disorganized drug dealer then why is their room spotless?)

I don't like how they change the movie from the theater to DVD though they edited out stuff The opening sequence where it showed the paper mache house they use into the fire by dokken on that part but when it was on DVD it was just some instrumental thing and there was another scene the one with the black kid were Freddy reached into his chest ripped his heart out showed a beating heart in Freddy's hand and then he threw the heart on the floor that was completely cut out All they showed was a back view in the DVD version
