What's on Elon Musk's mind? In this exclusive conversation with head of TED Chris Anderson, Musk details how the radical new innovations he's working on -- Tesla's intelligent humanoid robot Optimus, SpaceX's otherworldly Starship and Neuralink's brain-machine interfaces, among others -- could help maximize the lifespan of humanity and create a world where goods and services are abundant and accessible for all. It's a compelling vision of a future worth getting excited about. (Recorded at the Tesla Texas Gigafactory on April 6, 2022)
Just over a week after this interview was filmed, Elon Musk joined TED2022 for another (live) conversation, where he discussed his bid to purchase Twitter, the biggest regret of his career, how his brain works and more. Watch that conversation here: • Elon Musk talks Twitte...

You do know that Musk says that while not caring about safety issues in Tesla factories causing their Tesla workers to lose their limbs permanently or not carrying out chemical safety classes which caused many workers to lose their eye sight permanently? And yes the kicker is, Musk tried to hide the worker injuries are still continuing to this day despite Musk saying something like he supports free speech. What faith in humanity was there when it requires sacrificing people?

I am 52 yrs old. Listening to the future that Elon will accomplish, makes me sad that I will not live long enough to see the full realization of his endeavors. At the same time, I am VERY HAPPY that I am alive to witness the accomplishments he has already achieved and will achieve in my life time. If I live long enough to witness the first human mission to mars, I will have died a happier man! This man makes me want to live longer! BTW, I was born in 1969. The year we landed on the moon. Maybe some would be affraid of his investments or something like that, but at the billionare level of playing field - you usually don't see people that are affraid of each other. Compete with each other, or cooperate? Definitely. And there is no question about it, that Elon Musk is one of the people who are a driving force behind some of the technologies, and also early space exploration.

Watching this video, I have to say that Chris Anderson is an outstanding and amazing interviewer. All questions were totally on point and not only interesting but also different to what we have heard before from Elon. Throughout the interview, one could see the underlying structure and guidance which made it easy to listen and follow along. And one thing that especially stood out: He rarely interrupted but still managed to get all the necessary information while not digressing from the main topics. I watched a 1 hour long interview, enjoyed every second and am stunned afterwards to a point where not writing a comment simply isn't a possibility. That's what interviews should be like. That's quality.

My experience with FSD Beta in a 2020 Model 3 Performance is that it's still not perfect but it's good enough to do about 80% of my driving. I still have to pay attention and take over sometimes but most of the issues are just annoying rather than dangerous. Some would be dangerous if I completely stopped paying attention. It's not good on undivided highways. In that situation, tends to think that a new lane of traffic is opening up every time a turn lane appears so it still changes into it even though I'm trying to continue straight. Until a couple of months ago it took a lot of unnecessary turns. That's rare now. Sometimes it's too cautious so it has trouble catching an exit in time or is slow to leave a stop so I have to hit the accelerator a little. It shows extreme promise and does seem to be on the path to be dramatically better than any other similar product available. The fact that it will work anywhere without premappng or other conditions for use (like the Mercedes system that's called Level 3 but can only drive on premapped highways up to 45 miles per hour) is huge. It should also be noted that an idiot tried to force his way in front of me going left as I went straight 2 months ago and caused some pretty bad front end damage. It took until a week ago for Tesla to take my car in for repair but my car continued to drive very well with Full Self Driving anyway. I happened to not be using FSD when I was hit. I was crossing a divided highway and I was already almost to the divider looking right to monitor the opposite side of traffic when he slammed into me. I would have noticed him in time to stop if I hadn't been looking right so had I been using FSD the accident would have likely been averted since it would have seen him making his moronic move in time to stop.

The fact is that BTC symbolises the future of cryptocurrency, and traders are wondering if now is the best moment to trade, I feel you should examine the situation more closely before jumping to any conclusion. BTC's price has been fluctuating over the previous days, signaling that the market has become unstable and that is it impossible to anticipate whether it will go bearish or bullish. Others are patient, while others continue to trade with no risk. It all depends on the pattern you're trading and the source of your signal;

You can't change the future, you can only change the present reality. Buying electric cars could lead to a sustainable and better future, but it might as well do the opposite. There is no way to be sure. Electric cars could for example lead to a massive increase in traffic because suddenly driving around your car is almost free using solar power and that increase in traffic would produce more secondary CO2 than it saves by ditching gasoline, like fixing roads (asphalt -> super high in CO2), building more bridges (concrete -> super high in CO2), wear and production of tires, etc etc. IMO the best way to fix the future is a drastic decrease in human population to levels where we can live in symbiosis with nature and let everyone enjoy a happy and healthy life. We just don't fulfill the requirements to be an advanced species so long there is unnecessary suffering. If we can't fix our most basic of needs for all, why would you want to spread such a toxic culture into space? We're not worthy (yet). We have to grow up first and then join the galactic community. One step at a time.. they're probably watching us and there is no way they would let a species loose into space that is at the verge of using nuclear bombs against each other. How stupid is that.. and if you believe you're safe from earthlings on Mars you're totally wrong. Nukes can reach Mars without a problem. In fact I'm sure some countries will setup spy satellites around Mars the moment it is colonized and then claim they are building weapons of mass destruction to justify an invasion.

Thank them for what exactly? Elon is a MASSIVE emitter of carbon, and he is a massive destroyer of ecology, like any fucking corporate owner, no matter if what they pump out of the factory has "green" on the box. He is not the solution to our problems, he is an example of the fucking problem, that being perpetual growth capitalism in complete fucking defiance of the immutable physics of a finite world. The reason our species is coming to an end is because of morons like you who give people legitimacy based on their bank balance and vocabulary alone, allowing them to get to high places where they bend governments to their rich minorities will.

I also think you’ve just read into some poorly written slam pieces. He’s not saint, don’t get me wrong, but he’s a far cry from Bezos or any of the other tech elites, not to mention politicians or investment bankers. He’s definitely inflammatory sometimes, but if there was legitimate evidence of him being nasty to minorities or treating workers terribly(like say Amazon…), we’d be hearing it non-stop. It’s just a lazy way to argue against someone. I mean, the guy manufactures his cars in the US…most corporations are manufacturing their products overaeas in way way worse environments. Like, out of all the ones to go after, there’s so many who give nothing in return compared to him. And the US is still putting out way less pollution and environmental damage as many eastern countries are. None of its good, but it’s kind of sad to attack the one guy who has actually made the most progress in environmental technology. Most didn’t even think electric cars would be a thing for another 50 years.

Wait! So he has a thought where in democracy, should be much harder to create a law than harder to get rid of a law. So, making law should be hard and get rid of one should be easier. Not equal harder? Direct democracy not representative, so the people would vote straight for a law to pass or not. How about people with different IQ? Make simple laws so people can understand them. So what about loopholes if the law is not well detailed. Making simple law, is that means people in Mars will be people who won't reason well in order to give them easy to understand laws.

Representational democracy is certainly horrible. But, direct democracy is worse. The problem is that any time you allow any group of people to control the lives of another group of people (even by a Kumbaya voting process), you inevitably end up with despotism, slavery and death. The only solution is a culture that legitimizes opting out of ANY political jurisdiction at ANY time. The only legitimate laws require unanimous consent. If 99 out of 100 people vote for something, it should only apply the 99, and the 1 outlier should be free to opt out.

it is actually mandatory to support breathalyzers in the EU starting this year. Teslas sold there already support it, but the device has to be installed by a third party.
