Sweet I envisioned this 20 years ago. And everyone knows Uber and Lyft are going to fail. When drivers are getting $32 hourly in some states $20 in others. Profits will drop, states are requiring EV for ride share, and if you already have a tesla why use a 3rd party app? Matter a fact why even drive just buy autonomous Tesla's and hit the golf course.

Uber and Lyft are already dead, they simply have a little time before they succumb. That could be as early as 2027 or as late as 2030. There is little sense in Tesla selling Robotaxi’s to competitors beyond the first year or two. And, they could simply do this through individual owners or over time. Tesla will also have the cost structure to beat competitors like Wamo, if that will even be a thing.

Technology working hard to remove all human experience from our lives. Had a great conversation last night with an Uber driver who grew up on the other side of the world was a pilot before he retired. Why would they want a freaking robo car?

This seems like the worst period. Even the market are now very unpredictable. Started investing recently when the market prices were a bit high,today I am more than 60% down!

All of these self driving rideshare ideas rely on the idea that the autonomous car's cost to produce, insure and maintain will be less than the existing rideshare business model which places the major costs on the driver (they pay/use their own car and maintain it). There are other obstacles to overcome... how will a self driving taxi assist those that are handicap (they can't). How safe will the self driving taxis be... and not just free from accidents but other issues such as having an entire driverless system getting hacked and causing mass accidents or kidnapping of passengers. Think it can't happen... well systems are being hacked in far greater number and frequency than ever before. I think that while many people might feel safer or better in a self driving taxi there will likely be an equal number of people that enjoy the conversation with a good driver. Lastly, there is the ever present Federal, State, and local governments (at least here in the U.S.) that can render a driverless taxi illegal with the stroke of a pen if they should pass regulations that prohibit or restrict such services. IMO, this makes great conversation and investment opportunities but in the end it could be like that multi-billion dollar train to nowhere in California or the push for electric vehicles which keeps getting setbacks. Time will tell.

lol. They’ve been promising robo taxi for years now.! All the fans keep repeating the same trash. They would have to get autonomous driving approved first… then more hurdles. I think Elon is just a master of saying things to try and spur investment
