For an old guy who watched Gemini and remember where I was when Apollo 11 landed and setting on the livingroom floor to watch Neil step off the lander and give his famous few word speech, I can honestly say this is very cool. I hope to see a launch before I die. Way cool.

Ron, same here, I watched the Apollo 11 landing and have followed all the world of space access ever since and Elon and the team at SpaceX, and I want to add to that NASA, and all the other inspirational efforts by other teams around the world has brought me back to that 10 year old who I once was, watching that scene of Neil Armstrong taking that first step on the Moon. Thank you Ellie and team for all the awesome effort bringing content that forwards awareness and excitement around supporting the effort for humans to venture off our planet!

It's staggering to think that the last moon landing was 1972 - over 50 years ago, so I'm not alone in the several generations who missed out but now can't wait to hopefully see it live for ourselves. Fingers crossed

Why not just use mancanons i stead? Three mile long super sonic railway. There. Less resources than a rocet per launch. Can add scram jets and rockets for landing. And parachutes just in case for landing.

what's the Starship success rate? I ask in jest though - Falcon had a lot of RUDs too before it became this incredibly reliable, just part of the process when you're pushing the frontiers

The shear sustainability of efforts to colonize the moon and Mars needs international cooperation of such a magnitude never known before. Go SpaceX. He said a lot of wonderful, visionary things. And I was with him right up until he said we can terraform Mars. That's actually impossible for several reasons. But we can have a scientific outpost there - and that would be fantastic.

I think it’s very doable and worthwhile but will take 100 years. Starting with Elon’s automated factory technology mining the moons of Mars to create a million square miles of thin mirrors to reflect sunlight to warm the surface of Mars. The warmth will evaporate huge buried deposits of water and CO2 and transform the planet into a temperate climate with the same surface area as all earth’s continents combined. Bacteria will extract more oxygen and nitrogen out of Martian soil to complete the atmosphere. A large superconducting ring at the Lagrange point between Sun and Mars will create a magnetic field to deflect solar wind away from Mars. The superconducting ring will be powered by solar wind and use its magnetic field to control its position by pushing against solar wind (much like a sailboat). In 100 years Mars could support life for 10 billion people

Well our Genius of the 21 century is a visitionare having his dreams. Why not as long as he does not get's too crazy with his dreams like terraforming Mars and Moon. WE humans with our DNA we are born we never ever can live on Mars or Moon like we are used to live on earth or we have to chnage into a totally new DNA generation nothing to transfer from old mother earth to the new worlds Moon and Mars up there ! We have to forget what we learned on earth how we use to live vtogether.. too much to write all that on here, but well whqt do we know about our future in 50/100/200 years ! All my best Elon Musk !

In teraforming Mars, we have already been teraforming Earth in a way. WE have worked on Earth to make Earth more suitable for civilization. bro, imagine going to the moon and it gets dark, and everything is darkness and you just see Earth on the sky. Its fucking terrifying but at the same time there would be no reason to be scared because theres no one, nothing living there, but imagine it, standing on the moon and the night comes, and you are just a person standing in a vast ocean of darkness and nothingness, while at the same time you know nothings coming at you but you are still frightened because we evolved to fear the darkness and the predators that lurk within it. I dont know im just amazed trying to imagine that feeling, its like a horror weird sensation, you could make a movie out of this actually, like the movie with the guy whos trapped in a coffin for all the duration of the movie but instead trapped in the moon at night, where you cant see anything or do anything
