my fear with anything Microsoft gets involved in is their infamous "embrace and extend" where they come in appear to embrace the technology, but all they are doing is sucking the life out of the Tech/Company/Talent and then when they come up with the updated V2.0 (aka extend) it is all copywrite and patents, they original people are locked out of their own product future.

The power of small models is bigger than the bigger models, just like the bain that have areas, a small model's brain with specific models for task is more efficient and real now than a big IA model that can only run on a supercomputer.... Now I want to test the rest of the LLM's against this: If I had 10 fingers on 2 hands. Each hand has 5 fingers. In between those fingers are gaps. Can I pick up 8 beer cans and 1 bottle of beer with those 2 hands? Explain your answer and the reasoning behind the answer. I actually did this yesterday and thought it would be a great test for AI. FYI: FSD v12.4.2 had issues and did not roll out to the fleet. V12.4.3 is rolling out to the full fleet. I have it. I have been transported over 125 miles by v12.4.3. Mostly on SC backroads and small town streets. They are NOT straight. Many are narrow and have funny branches and roadway obsticles. ALL OF THE TRIPS WERE HANDS FREE (JUST WATCH THE ROAD)! So far only 2 disengagements. One when the car failed to find its way out of a small parking lot and had to stop because FSD still isn't allowed to back up. The other occured when FSD started a left turn across traffic and an oncoming truck turned into the same roadway blocking our progress. I consider the latter to be a serious failure because there is a yield to oncoming traffic sign at the intersection and FSD failed to comply. The progress made by the FSD team compared to previous versions of FSD is a real feat of engineering magic. v12.4.3 is the first end-to-end AI release that feels as if FSD is getting close to driving autonomously in the real world. A world where roads are not laid out on a grid and vary widely in width and in roadway hazards.

Funny I was just running ollama with 2 simultaneous sessions (and that's not the latest version) and it worked quite fine with llama3 and phi but when I needed to hibernate my computer it crashed it. I hope the update fixes that. But as a whole, I'm very happy with ollama. I've used it for embedding in rag and it does quite well. Though it doesn't have grok. As for Apple and MSFT and OpenAI that smelled from miles of monopoly. So it makes sense they decided to step down.

Dynamically created games for an audience of one is good for some types of games, but often you want a game with a plot and events which you can to talk other people about. Apple ditching OpenAI is so predictable, Apple always wants things done in-house so they have full control over it, so even thought they might use outsider tech, it's probably not for long as they get their own tech in place to replace it. As for Nintendo, I'll give them 5-10 years at the most before they reverse that decision, it's easy for them to say they won't use A.I. but if rivals end up using it, they will end up with a big advantage over Nintendo and in this world, it's all about the competitive edge, A.I. is likely going to open up a lot of possibilities for the ones that take advantage of it, and I wish the ones that don't want to use it luck against the ones that do use A.I. because the ones that don't, will probably not stand a chance against the ones that do, especially as A.I. becomes more useful and capable. There is absolutely nothing impressive about xAI competing with OpenAI - they have been in this for a decade because they *pioneered the technology and are responsible for a big part of the research*. Making a competitive model on established tech is literally dictated by how much you can spend on training and data - doubt that impresses anyone who understands it.
