I was at this show! My office was right across the street, and the minute the concert was announced I went to the box office and stood online to get my ticket! It was the only ELP show I was able to attend and I was 24. When I found this on You Tube I started to cry. Will forever LOVE ELP and thank my late father for the gift of gifting me Tarkus with a note “just listen”

What is sad is the album ended up being In the Hot Seat. It was delayed due to Keith Emerson's medical issue. Though it had some nice moments it may be their worst album after Love Beach. It is so great to hear today's generations discovering classic ELP. Their reactions are like archeologists finding a jet airplane in a Egyptian pyramid.

I saw them at a great local venue during this tour - Feb 1993. Froze our butts off getting to the theater...it was -18°F that evening. But it was the best concert I'd ever been too and after being a fan since 1970 (and a Lake fan since '68) it was thrilling as well to be around so many ELP fans of all ages ... from the young to people older than I was.

ELP was my second all time favorite band behind the Beatles .I was fortunate enough to have seen them several times. I had to look up their concert archives to remember which ones I attended. First time was 4-21-1972 at Louisville Ky Convention Center. Second was 11-24-1973 at Indianapolis Fair Grounds Coliseum.it was the Brain Salad Surgery Tour with Quad sound system. Third was 5-25-1977 ay Louisville Ky. Freedom Hall ,their first show with full orchestra. A couple weeks later I caught them again for a fourth time at Indianapolis Market Square Arena with the orchestra again. .Fifth time was in Indy at MSA in 10-18-1986 with Cozy Powell on drums. The sixth and final time I saw them in concert was 8-13-1992 at Riverbend Amphitheatre in Cincinnati Oh. it was the Black Moon Tour. I`m 68 years old but I still like to listen to ELP from time to time .They were 3 very talented musicians that bring back a lot of fond memories.

I saw this tour in Milwaukee. At a very small venue called the Riverside theater. It was really great. I remember being concerned about Greg Lake as it appeared he had gained a lot of wieght and seemed unhealthy. I saw Greg again in 20012 during his " Songs of Lifetime Tour" where he did the entire Court of the Crimson King". Truly magical. He looked very unwell and I was even more concerned about his health than I was in 1994. What a great man. Such a wonderful voice. Such iconic Bass Guitar parts, one of the greatest rock guitar solos of all time in Karnevel #9. I am now getting ready to see Carl Palmer in Green Bay in June. Can't wait. 🌞

I was just wondering about the drummer ..Carl Palmer ,...as to how did all this tragedy of loosing two best buddies and fellow musicians that worked together for so long,...affected him,...all of a sudden he finds himself alone in the stage of music....I'm sure he has family and loved ones who helped him get through it all.,but he must be very traumatized by all this........God help you Carl Palmer and RIP....Emerson and Lake.

Carl has stated that they were never mates like the Beatles were. He of course will miss them, and they were friends, but never close like many band members were. Having said that, they were to my my way of thinking, the best Trio of musicians to ever take the stage. Many will argue for many others, but for me, it was these 3 fellows. Boy will I miss them.

I think the saddest thing is how much more they could have done from the time this video was made forward. In 1998 or 1999 they were working towards a new record when supposedly Lake hand-grenaded the whole thing over his wanting to produce it and the other guys just weren't having it. It was mostly because Lake hadn't been out there producing other acts up to then and was rather trying to lean on his producer credits on the ELP albums from many years before. That was kind of the end of things for ELP; a small number of oldies gigs and that was that. It's a shame because they came back so solidly in '92 with BLACK MOON and before that in '86 with ELPOWELL...I know I wanted to hear them move forward. I didn't care for much of what was on IN THE HOT SEAT but I was okay with them trying to find their new footing.

Just finding this video tonite and your comment and replies here . I spoke with Carl when he was showing his artwork in LV at a gallery. Several of his pieces were of the band , and also one of John Wetton. To hear in his OWN voice that he was truly saddened that they have passed was a real heart wrenching thing to see/hear first hand. Later after the showing I spoke for a while with Katie ( Carl's long time companion) I had not met her before this nite But we got on like old friends for years She is such a warm and friendly person. I asked how Carl had been holding up after both Greg and Keith and John having left us in such a short time frame. She admitted that he was crushed and that the way he was dealing with it all was by continuing to gig and stay busy with his artwork. After a while Carl came over and we had some leftover hors d'oeuvres and talked about his book that describes his artworks which if you dont know, is really amazing stuff worth cking out for yourselves . So after all the rumors and what other people 'think' each felt about the other the reality is when you have such a long history together it really does become a valuable part of your life and sadly you sometimes only realize when older, how important that is.

WE NEED TO STILL ASK THE QUESTION AND LOOK FOR ANSWERS POSSIBLY AS TO WHY KEITH EMERSON TOOK HIMSELF AWAY FROM US.. THE GENIUS OF THIS MAN WILL LIVE IN INFAMY.. AND THERE WAS POSSIBLY SO MUCH MORE HE COULD HAVE CONTRIBUTED BUT WHAT WE HAVE IS WHAT WE HAVE AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE SEEN AND HEARD IS AN ABSOLUTE.. THERE ARE VERY FEW IN HISTORY THAT COULD EQUAL WHAT KEITH EMERSON HAD CREATED OR PERFORMED IN HIS LIFETIME

I was fortunate enough to see them play the Club Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach in MA back in the 90s...and they did Tarkus...it was a dream come true to see them do it live. It was a fairly intimate setting, considering the size of the ballroom and it was far from full, which made it that much more enjoyable. It was my only time to see them and I'll never forget it. They did Ce La Vie and Emerson re-appeared with a beret, striped French style t-shirt, and played accordion...very touching, and a great rendition.

This is hard to watch you can see that keith isnt in a good place going through his divorce and all, all the more sad when you go to 2016. Lake said in his biography that they lost their chemistry by then and they never got it back. It was sad when he talked about what if they had done things differently, they weren't friends and the band was an arrangement, they shot to the top and fell just as quick, like he said the days of a top ten album were truly over. I was a fan all through the 70s, up until love beach. Musical taste changes and they were left behind, Generis and Yes were able to do very well but ELP never found that magic again.
