Very poor quality vid with decent live audio of this rare gem from Elton's 1973 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road... / Très mauvaise vidéo avec qualité sonore passable de cette superbe chanson rarissime du répertoire «live» d'Elton John.

THIS is the kind of stuff that would compel me to see Elton live today. Watching him sit on his piano stool as he leads the audience through a karaoke singalong to his Dua Lipa hit doesn’t sound like a fun evening. If Elton had remained committed to his artistry I would have stayed to the very end. He lost me when he recorded a remake of Don’t Go Breaking My Heart with RuPaul. That’s when Elton abandoned the last remnant of his artistic legacy for his celebrity legacy. It continues to break my heart.

I don't think that's an unreasonable comment. Elton John has nothing to prove but the last few years, musically speaking, I feel he's released some utter rubbish. I've seen him live in '92 and 2015. He was brilliant both times. An outstanding performer with a vast cannon of superb material. If I had to criticise it would be the latter tendency to sing with an inexplicable American accent. Still, I'd say one of the top ten greatest artists of all time.

One of the rare gems from the GYBR double LP these guys recorded in about two weeks at the Chateaux in France. Ya hardly ever see EJ and the band perform this live. With its orchestration arranged by Del Newman, it is a remarkable testament to John/Tupin dual of super song writing. Without a doubt, it is the loveliest piece on the entire GYBR LP.

Hi Richard Just saw your video and did not realize how rare this song was at his concerts I almost did not film this song not being familiar with it but since my memory card had so much storage I decided to include it.Looking back at my film footage from that same night I realized I taped this same song in beautiful HD quality with my Sony camera from section 101 right next to the stage.Watching back my footage it is crystal clear and I got the entire song as well. Unfortunately not knowing this song previously I was focused on Elton and his piano neglecting redirecting my camera towards the guitar player towards the end for his solo yet we hear it and it's entirety.the audio quality on my footage is just a spectacular as yours. Not knowing how to upload on KZfaq I figured I would send you this message and have you contact me to help me share my footage with the world as it seems that this version by Elton is super rare and must be shared with all his fans all over the world. Looking forward to you contacting me somehow ....
