My friend from the late 90s, she loved Elton as do I, but, she was NEXT FUCKING LEVEL. LIKE followed him around like he was the grateful dead... flew to shows etc...She went to this show and saw him at the end outside. He approaches and laughs" don't you think others deserve a chance?" And she's like oh shit what does he remember...and he says "you jumped on front of My car at Madison Square Garden last year". He remembered her!

I just saw Elton John perform a few weeks ago at the Outside Lands Festival in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. He was was awesome. I did a little online research and I was surprised to learn that Elton John has given over 3,000 concerts since 1970. If you average the songs per concert, that's almost 70,000 songs. I've seen him perform twice.The Outside Lands Festival and at the Civic Center Auditorium on June 17, 1982. He doesn't play in San Francisco very often.
@Alantheleopard5 жыл бұрын
I guess that songs of his like "Durban deep" (I really love it), "16th century man" or "I just cannot wait to be king" (among others) do not count amongst those 70,000 songs, since as far as I know he never sung those songs live, and if that's true, I inevitably wonder why... I saw him live just once, about three or four years ago, the only time he paid a visit to Gijón (Asturias, Spain).
@ItsMeMissV3695 жыл бұрын
ldchappell1 I’ve seen him twice, the first time in the late 80s and then 2013. I’ve been to countless concerts and his 80s concert is my favorite of all time. It was perfect. In 2013 it was great but didn’t live up, he’s getting old.❤️

Amazing! I still watch this from time to time. I love everything about it. The banter! I too had to get Tantrums & Tiaras dubbed. My grandfather helped me get it done. The new single at that time, You Can Make History Young Again, is actually one of my favorites and I think could be used to describe his enduring career and our love as fans for him. Although, as I said in the fan magazine East End Lights, I still think the bridge doesn't work well lol. You can see why fans stay with him through the decades when you see a performance of Levon like this one. I have seen him live over a dozen times and it never gets old. I was there for the last show in Dodger's stadium last Fall. I'll always be there for him. "When you going down there, darlin'?" - all the loonies get married in Australia lol
