The instrumental to close this out was just absolutely perfect. A legendary performer and an incredible band taking every single available second to enjoy performing together in this country for the last time. It's like they didn't want to finish, and I didn't want them to either - he even threw some blues in there to pay homage to his career. Amazing

I found in many songs that he no longer had the voice and was just belting them but he did a great job of this and his performance of 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' was as good as he has ever done. What was sure was that his piano playing was undimmed by the years. Also Davey Johnstons guitar playing was still brilliant and the drummer had no issues keeping up despite both being around the same age as Elton. A lovely ending to this song.

I cannot adequately put into words how I feel about Elton's Rocket Man at Glastonbury '23. I've immersed myself in music my whole life...50+ years. All kinds: Beethoven to Doo Wop; Pavarotti to Bruce; Mahler to Meat Loaf; Tina to Jarrett. I've enjoyed thousands upon thousands of musical pieces. To me, this is the greatest single performance that I've ever heard at any time. In particular, he takes us through the Song beautifully; and, sadly just when you thought it's winding down, he quietly eases into an amazing riff that is as much jazz as anything. With his lead guitarist, David Johnson, he builds from there as Rocket Man explodes, both literally and figuratively into its climax. It's amazing. It's seminal.

yes, considering that he is 76, I was too. Ok, he can't reach the high notes or hold the long notes anymore, but after the first 2 songs, I thought he was giving one of the best performances of his life. I thought the rockets at the end started too early, not Elton's problem of course.

@@MJ-qb5ph yeah elton may of written hundreds of song, but for something like Glastonbury and last time on tour, u have to mainly play hits that is best seller or very well known airplay too , Step into Christmas is a smash hit of his career played every year at holiday season and then you get Can You Feel the Love Tonight is such a iconic hit yearly for his back catalog and Disney soundtrack, he missed a trick on both of these track.
